Political Party Research Project Hypothesis From my knowledge of political parties I believe that the Democratic party best suits my views in government. I believe this because democrats are all about change and helping everyone out. They also have a broad view in social issues. For example they are open about gay marriage and helping immigrants. An important government issues that is important to me is making the naturalization process for a citizen easier and more affordable. I believe everyone that would like to become apart of our nation should be able to go through the process at a faster and least expensive way. They believe that welfare should not and cannot be reformed, it should just end. All the programs that aid Americans should end this includes food stamps, subsidized housing, and everything else. If the family cannot support themselves alone then they should rely on other family members, church, the community, and other private organizations. They believe a dollar-for-dollar tax credit should be established to ease the process of eliminating welfare. The tax credit would be used to contribute to private charities. They believe in having diversity and difference in heritage within our nation. The Obama administration is dedicated in securing our boarders to reduce the amount of drugs coming in and out of our nation. Businesses should be responsible without hiring undocumented workers. Illegal immigrants need to acknowledge that they have broken the law, pay taxes, and learn the English language. They believe these steps are necessary for them to become a citizen. With this happening, future citizens can help improve and innovate the American economy. Mitt Romney, the presidential candidate for the republican was agains the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act is an immigration reform to aid illegal immigrants into receiving their citizenship. Romney said he would give visas out to educated and skilled foreigners. He also said that he would give a green card to anyone that received a diploma in a skilled degree. Mitt Romney also supports the immigration law in Arizona.
