1. The different police procedures that are used during the arrests were, they were pick up from their homes, charged, warned of legal rights, spread eagled on a cop car, searched and handcuffed in public with a real cop. They were also finger printed, blindfolded, had a chain put on their feet, a stocking cap on their heads, wore a dress with no under clothes and were given an ID number instead of their names. These lead the prisoners to feel confused, fearful and dehumanized because this was all done publically and all very realistic, blurring the line from experiment to reality. 2. To be honest, I wish I could say that I would be right in the middle, not too strict or too nice, but I know if put into the situation I would adapt into one of the extremes of the guard roles. I would most likely be the lenient one, being nicer and disobeying the other guards to slip them extra things and be more helpful to the prisoners than to the guards.…show more content…
The realistic feel of the experiment lead to the "good guards" not standing up to the other guards. Also, fear of the "John Wayne" and being ganged up on by all the guards probably made it scarier to think about standing up, when they would have no one to back them up. In addition, everyone was so deep into their roles, even the sociologists probably wouldn't have helped or done anything at that point. 4. If I was a prisoner, I don't think I could handle it. I would like to think I could rough it out, but being an emotional girl, I would probably just have broken down and cried alot. I wouldn't have behaved as well as Sarge, but I probably wouldn't have acted out either like 416. I doubt I could live in prison or stand to be in jail for more than one
