Birds chirp and fly through the air as a herd of mountain goats go by and start scaling the steepest slope. Vibrant yellows and oranges fill the clear sky with every sunset and sunrise, looking as if heaven was opening up. Being ever so immaculate and always glorious, the Colorado Mountains make the perfect backdrop for such ideal sunsets. With so much natural beauty, time is easily forgotten while viewing all the scenery. Aspen leaves sway while the wind whistles, blowing and towering high above almost all the other trees.
Sitting at the top of the world on soft white powder. Admiring the beauty of the magnificent mountain peaks. Anticipation now building inside, adrenaline pumping, preparing for what is soon to come. As your heart rate increases you smile at the excitement soon to come. Rising to your feet, standing on your board, carving into the side of the mountain, a refreshing breeze hits you as you make your way down the mountain.
ALGONQUIN PARK The most beautiful place to visit during spring is Algonquin Park, Ontario. A large green meadow sincerely welcomes me as I stand in the luscious green grass I look at the gorgeous sight in front of me. The vast wilderness area provides many different kinds of wild flowers that grow in the mountains and meadows. They include elegant yellow daisies, beautiful violet tulips, and narcissus which put forward the most delicious smells. Looking at these graceful flowers that twist in the wind, nature is like a bride walking down a hallway.
Doing this project has opened my eyes up to a county in Pennsylvania called Armstrong County. I had never even heard of the name, let alone know what kinds of things are there. I noticed that the county has a lot of nature sittings. That is the main reason why I choose this county. It looked very alive with all the colorful leaves.
Italy is a country that I’ve always wanted to travel to. Italy is famous for its authentic Italian foods and beautiful historical landmarks. Although I realize vacationing in Italy is a distant dream for now, I still fantasize about enjoying their incredible dishes and touring the beautiful streets. Even though these past few months have been a rollercoaster, I’ve learned a lot. Life is short and should never be taken for granted.
Now she is here at Madison College for her first year where she is taking courses for nursing. After learning about where Jenna is from and where she attended school we began to talk about our hobbies and interest more, where we again found some common ground. When I asked her if she considered herself and outdoors person, she did. During the summer of 2007 Jenna and a group of her friends went backpacking for a week through the mountains in Philmont, New Mexico
Several themes in the poems including love, and snow are coupled with the theme of mountains and what they mean. Yamabe No Akahito's poem, “I passed by the beach, At Tago and saw The snow falling, pure white, High on the peak of Fuji,” (Rexroth 3) couples themes of snow and mountains to express what mountains symbolize in his life. Akahito uses mountains as a symbol for a distant destination that he hopes to reach. Since the top of the mountain is pure and white, he may feel that he has not reached the required level of purity in his life to reach such a place. Izumi shares a similar use of mountains as Akahito.
During the summer after my sophomore year of college, I spent 8 weeks in Guatemala on a service trip that I ventured into with the naïve notions that I was saving the world. Bright eyed with excitement over the opportunity to make an impact, I was about to step outside of my little bubble into one of the most eye opening and humbling experiences. Probably the most defining moment of the trip happened when I was in Nebaj. As I sat on the La Pista runway, gazing up at the beautiful mountains surrounding me, all I saw was beauty and serenity. I openly marveled at the breathtaking surroundings around me, only to see pained reactions from my host family.
After living there for about a year, we moved to Columbus, Mississippi. This is where my sister, Lauren, was born. We lived there for three years before moving to Germany. Moving to Europe was a huge adjustment for my family, especially my parents. But it was an absolutely amazing experience for us.
Urban Living versus Rural Living Try to picture in your mind an exciting place that you enjoy the most and absolutely love spending time at. Did you picture your place in a fast-paced city or in the rural land of the country? When I imagine a place in my head I vision the peaceful country living that I’ve been raised around and the kind neighbors that would love to let you borrow some extra sugar and to jump your car when you need it. The city and the country life are two very different places and each has many different benefits. Most people tend to be more biased on the place that they have always lived and been raised when they have never experienced the other.
