he's motivation was to keep everyone safe, and stick threw it till the end. Ralph not only is a hero, but truely the only optimistic person threw out the story. The other children of the island elect him as the leader of the island because of he took control and tried to bring order amunst the others. examples of ralphs attempts to bring order to the island include, the conch shell, piggies glasses, buliding huts, fire, and establishing roles for the other islanders. when the boys first arive on the island, Ralph finds a conch shell that he uses to not only bring order, but to gather everyone that survived together.
When other boys propose an idea, “Jack [nods], as much for the sake of agreeing as anything.” (Golding 55). Jack has an independent personality, and thinks he’d make a better leader than any one of the other boys. Jack is one to make decisions, rather than being told what to do. He makes decisions saying, “When I’ve bathed and has something to eat, I’ll just trek over to the other side of the mountain and see if I can see any traces. Coming?” (Golding 55).
He is a clear thinker, his appearance, and his symbolic losses throughout the novel. Initially, we could see the evidence of Piggy’s thinking ability at the beginning of this novel Lord of the flies by William Golding. Piggy realizes the boys’ situation and he is thinking about how they are going to survive. He says, “We got to find the others, we got to do something.” It can prove it and he know what should they do when the others don’t. He was thinking at that time and he got the right idea from his mind.
- 3) Why does Ralph reveal Piggy’s nickname to Jack? Because boys started calling him “Fatty”, and Ralph thought Piggy is better. Piggy | Jack | | * Likes order * Concerned * Not * Trying to be different/ unique and be close to Ralph (asthma) | * Very concerned about leadership * Has control over choir. * Jack likes to HUNT. (Aggressive) * | | Also, Ralph wanted to fit into the Jack’s group.
Lars has some skills about nutrition. Indeed, he prefers canned goods because they are the best food which can be found in Dumpster. Whatever canned goods are contaminated or not, his experience enables him to use them safely. For example, he knows that all canned goods must “contain a slight vacuum and suck air when first punctured.” That means they are healthy. However, cans which do not present this fact, we should avoid.
Rowan has always been quiet but when his dad died trying to save him from a burning fire he became more quite. Rowan always thought that he should have been him that died and not his Dad. Now he takes care of the Bukshah, even though the little kids usually do it. Secondly, because of the prophecy Rowan had to go to the journey that risked his life, He is very convenient of coping in many different situations like on the journey, brave, for going on the journey when he knows that he might not even come back. He knows he will probably die but he keeps on going.
Fire was meant to strike fear in the hearts of people, but yet Montag says “it was a pleasure to burn.” He didn’t understand what the consequences of him burning the books had, and neither did the rest of the world. Society was one mind, and one body; no longer filled with individuals. Fire was everywhere, so no one questioned it, just accepted it. At the same time Clarisse comes along as the exact opposite of fire. She was soft, gently, and seemed to be filled with a boisterous joy.
Dove then decided he would teach Johnny a lesson so he reached to the back of the shelf for the cracked crucible and gave it to Johnny. The crucible broke while Johnny was making the basin on the furnace causing his hand to be severely burned and crippled. Johnny’s pride has benefited himself and others by helping him evolve into a better person. People are also not treated disrespectfully anymore due to his personality change. Johnny’s pride is recast under the guidance of Rab and the rebel leaders.
It made them feel like they had reason to go another day. First, fire was a form of necessary survival that everyone on the island needed. In order to cook the food they had captured, they needed a fire. Thanks to Piggy’s glasses, they had successfully made one. The fire was something that needed to be tended to and constantly watched.
Family time does not need to be an expensive day at a park or zoo but time spent laughing and talking. Keeping a journal of feelings, events, problems whether they are good are bad. The journal can help express your feeling as not to hurt others but also to help you express your problems with them in a more effective way. An Anger Jar, take pieces of paper and write down when you are angry or upset and put the paper in the jar. When the jar is full the family can dispose of it the way the feel best suited, putting the papers in a fire place to burn, ripping them to shreds, etc.
