Gay Marriage PHI 200 Gay Marriage Gay marriage is something that’s between two people who are of the same sex. Most people don’t accept this type of situation because they feel that it is completely wrong. Some people rather that people be happy no matter who they are with, male or female. When it comes to a person who starts off being gay, usually it because of a past event that happened in the past or just that most people have those certain types of feelings or desires towards a person of the same sex. They should have equal rights just like straight people. I think its okay for them to even get married. We as people shouldn’t judge a person for the sexuality preference or who they chose to be with. Same sex marriages are legal in Massachusetts, California, etc. which represents the significant social issue dividing people in the United States (Feldman, 2009). In some of the states the uniting of two gays is called a Civil Union or Domestic Partnership. There many gay rights groups are fighting for rights and religious groups are against gay marriage and I do not feel that it is right. It is fair to discriminate against gays for being together. America suppose to be a free country and people should be able to be in any kind of relationship they choose. When two people marry, love is the reason they are in that situation. A person cannot help who they have fallen in love with. A lot of people put labels on gays and their marriage. I feel that it is impossible to label someone of any kind in the human race. There were other cultures that permitted it but did not encourage it (Hunt, 1995). But on the other hand, both Judaism and Christanity viewed gay as a sin (Hunt, 1995). Some social scientist oppose laws that prohibit homosexuality, they believed that gay men and women are treated unfairly (Bidstrup, 2005). The lifestyle of gays is a principle insight at which we all have come to be governed (Hunt, 1995). In 1960’s homosexual organizations known as the Gay Liberation groups have worked in a number of countries and the U.S to urge society to have a tolerate attitude toward homosexuality (Bidstrup, 2005). Many people have their different views on gay marriage. My mom had a total different view from me. She said, “Many people believe that to be gay is not normal, but I think everybody has a choice to make in life, to be accepted by society. Personally, I don’t believe in same sex marriages. I grew up taught at a very early age that two people of the same sex are wrong and not in God’s eyes. I also think that gay marriage is a personal decision.” I feel that she is wrong and should not judge anyone from any kind of perspective. We have our different views of gay
