Global warming will only cause an increase in these issues along with additional problems that could eventually end this civilization, if we don’t work hard on improving our efforts on managing all the different types of pollution and waste that contributes to this major concern. 2. Water Issues, was an extremely important area of local environmental concern this summer. 70% of our planet’s surface is water, but most of that is salt water. Freshwater though essential to life, is one of the rarest and most endangered resources on our progressively fragile planet.
Wetlands can only handle so much of these pollutants, and with the major habitat loss that has completely changed the dynamics of these once seasonal wetlands, can only limit the ability for these wetlands to filter as much of the pollution as possible. There are not enough wetlands in Roseville anymore to have any significant affect to dilute the polluted water and clean it properly for the wetlands to sustain healthy ecosystems. Wetlands are crucial for water, because they filter out the harmful waterborne pollutants and damaging nutrients before they can reach rivers, streams, and lakes. (EPA 2008) We drink from these places and have a responsibility to keep these wetlands intact to ensure they work as they are supposed to. With the recent surge of construction all over Roseville, especially along Route 65, many of the important wetlands have been replaced by buildings, and roads that are pollution sources producing runoff that flows directly into the remaining wetland habitat.
This would, in turn, provide more land for farmers and help to eradicate their poverty issues. The Dam itself was built between Asyut and Abu Simbel, more towards the southern part of Egypt. While the Dam was intended to do nothing but benefit Egypt and its economy, it didn’t come without implications and negative effects. To build the Dam, many houses and residences had to be relocated and many people had to leave their homes. There were also old Egyptian structures that had to be carefully moved to avoid destruction from the new path of the river.
We already solved some of the problem by recycling and composting but there’s still a huge amount of garbage. We can cut don’t our garbage by producing products that can be recyclable or can be put in a green bin. In the future I hope they can invent something that will eliminate garbage for once and for all. The reasons why we should eliminate those things are because our world would be a cleaner place. If we don’t stop Global warming our world is going to die and all the living beings in the world will perish with it.
Another cause for erosion is overgrazing; which is the constant grazing of animals on plants without allowing the plants any recovery time. This exposes the soil for an extended time leading to water and wind soil erosion. The NRCS has a program called the Conservation Stewardship Program that provides information and support to enable ranchers who own their land to burn unwanted woody plants, reseed the land with perennial grass varieties that hold water, and manage the cattle so that the herd are moved to a new location before overgrazing occurs. Lastly, deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use. The result to this is the top soil is left exposed it then becomes saturated with water and slides off the slope in a muddy mass into waterways leaving the subsoil to continuously erode.
Environmental health Unit 38 P1 Explain how human activity can damages the environment For years now we have been warned about human activity destroying our planet and environment. Some of the things that humans are affecting are Climate Change, Depletion of Ozone Layer, Pollution, Deforestation and Extinction of Species. Overcrowding, urbanisation and population growth Overcrowding can affect our planet more than some people think, Overcrowding means more people this means we use more natural resources this means the earth in the end isn’t going to have enough resources to support the growing population. Remember every person on the planet takes up space which could be used for farmland, and forests. People excrete wastes and litter that flow into water systems, and animal habitats, this is slowly polluting water and killing wildlife.
This unintended harm to other organisms is caused by many factors. An issue that results from introducing “herbicide-resistant” crops is that farmers are allowed to spray as much herbicide as they want with no worry of killing their own crop. These excess chemicals are introduced into the environment in unnecessary amounts and end up killing many organisms within the area. Also, weeds meant to be killed by the herbicide can acquire the new gene
The forests “breathe” by removing large amounts of carbon dioxide from the air and giving off oxygen. It is feared that the loss of rain forests will increase CO2 levels in the atmosphere and result in global warming. Tribes Tribes Why are indigenous people in danger? When the first European explorers arrived in Latin America, they brought with them diseases such as small-pox, measles, and even the common cold. Europeans were used to these illnesses so they didn’t get sick, but indigenous peoples had never been exposed to these diseases before so many of them became sick and died They live what is called a sustainable existence, meaning they use the land without doing harm to the plants and animals that also call the rainforest their home.
Even though they want their unique taste they have to be very careful about it because one little mistake can ruin thousands of liters of beer. In example they have to dry the malt in a certain way otherwise it could be a danger because nobody really knows what can happen if they do it differently. Also it can contaminate the environment and its surroundings, which do include human beings. They contaminate rivers because people all over the world are throwing trash, everywhere that at some point end up in a river or a pond. Talking about the greenhouse gasses they contaminate the air contributing to global warming that today affect the people that inhabit this planet.
The production of these toxic-filled substances continues to lead the human race on a path of natural destruction; with thousands of animal sea-life dying annually from plastic consumption. It's time we wake up to the fact that our oceans are in need of critical help. How did the plastic get into our oceans to begin with? The oceans are enormous but they are not infinite. Today, as in the past, oceans are being treated as giant disposal areas for all types of refuse (plastics, tins, bottles etc.)
