Immigration has been such a controversial topic. America what was once considered land of the freed and an immigrant based country is now shaming others from where they come from. To add on to that also turning their back on people who have actually helped built this nation to what it is today. With that said in 1965 the immigration act was placed which created a new system to let more immigrants into the country. That is being battled nationally and federally. This has became a tremendous topic that has been talked about by our former president. States have became very influential with the immigration laws and the states have also been able to overcome political obstacles of any kind. The states have been used as political strategies in regards with the immigration laws as well as political actors. The American government has started to adapt to the local governments on there immigrant related policies in order to consider the new coming americans. Although some local cities have taken upon them to socially and economically incorporate immigrants and protect theme from previous immigrant policies that are rigorously enforced by law officers with the immigrants legal status. After extensive research by Huang, Xi and his crew they came to the conclusion that cities that educate the following generations on diversity the community will become a more liberal population. This populations may become economically troubled, but are more likely to become welcoming cities.
