On page 18, Gene admitted his envy towards Phineas. He thought, “It was hypnotism. I was beginning to see that Phineas could get away with anything. I couldn’t help envying him…” Gene was an introvert, while Phineas was an extrovert. His jealously of Finny’s trait increased throughout the novel because Finny continued to smooth-talk to get out of trouble.

They all tried to make it seem like Jay was a terrible man, when really, all he ever wanted was to be accepted by everyone. The one thing I will remember most about Jay was the amount of generosity he had. I’m not just talking about the endless nights of parties he had for people to be entertained and have a good time, however. Jay was one of the wealthiest men I ever knew, but he didn’t flaunt it like the other wealthy people I have known throughout my life. Jay didn’t spend his money on himself, and spoil himself with extravagant things.

The speech of the men when they are playing poker is very sharp and direct, but almost joking too. Stanley in particular uses lots of exclamatives when he’s talking. This could be seen as asserting his authority with his pack, making sure he’s still alpha. He uses imperatives with Mitch and by so doing he shows his influence and his view of being better than the other poker players; the same could be said of Stanley's insults, making Mitch out to be mummy’s boy. When Mitch first sees Blanche the stage directions are he simply ‘stares at her’ this shows he has never seen anyone like her before and is shocked to see her in the surroundings she's in.
He said, “I noticed that several of his punch lines had been unintelligible, and the audience had actually laughed at nothing but the cue of his hand slap.” (111) Martin felt that the audience was forced to laugh not because of the joke or because the man was being funny, but because of the cue that was provided. He strongly disliked this and wanted his comedy to be unpredictable and Rodriguez 2 more importantly memorable. This caused Martin to take a deeper look into his own act to make sure that it was set up in a way that the audience would laugh when they actually thought it was funny and not when they felt it was expected of them. Every person is unique and is individual so in order to promote equality it is important to treat everyone fairly. Each person has their own needs, wishes and preferences so it is imperative that these are respected. “Diversity” is another way of explaining “differences” and it’s important for us to realise that although often people may have many things in common with each other, they can also at the same time be very different and unique in many ways. We need to understand and recognize those differences, moreso than just simply tolerate them, so that we can embrace and value those people which will in itself produce a more conducive environment for all. The result of this should lead to “inclusion” which is about creating a sense of belonging, feeling included, feeling respected and valued, even though it may be that that person lacks some advantages.
In my opinion, it is also essential to have a sense of humility and I truly strive to always remain humble. When people let you into their lives and emotions, they can often put you on a pedestal because of what they are going through. In these interactions, I feel that it is very critical to remember

Many people think they are dumb and pointless, while others get a hilarious laugh at the stereotypes and “paying mock tribute to the unsung heroes” (www.usatoday.com) of the particular ad, whatever it may be. Over the course of this essay, the stereotypes aimed at the male gender and the points of the ads will be discussed as well in hopes of shedding some light on a great ad that a lot of people don’t understand. The stereotypes in the Bud Light ads are aimed towards the male gender and the “unsung heroes” of America. The “unsung heroes” are the inventors or facilitators of the great things that all men have come to love in America.
