OT: Reflexions about Ruth Even though Ruth was a foreigner in Bethlehem people already knew the sacrifice and commitment she had done towards her daughter in law. Ruth’s action spoke for her and made her noble character being known; as a result she found favour in Boaz eyes. Scripture reference Ruth 2:11-12 Ruth responded to adversity by being kind, faithful, selfless and determined. Despite of the circumstances she was not willing to let her mother in law alone. Ruth didn’t choose the easy way to go back to her land even though Naomi tried to convince her. Scripture reference Ruth 1:11-18 Ruth had an obedient servant heart; she was a hard-worker woman. Ruth asked her mother in law to let her go to the fields and didn’t come back until late with provision for Naomi. Ruth knew that she was the only one who could help Naomi and in every moment she honoured her mother in law. Scripture reference Ruth 2:2,17-18 Ruth’s faithfulness, love, kindness, determination and boldness helped her to not give up but to take that step of faith even though she didn’t where this step would lead her. Scripture reference Ruth 1:16-18 Through her faithfulness and love, Ruth preached God’s faithfulness and love for His people. And how with a willing and faithful heart despite the circumstances God can restore many lives. Scripture reference Ruth 4:14-15 What I can learn from this Bible character is faithfulness and steadfastness in a season that everything just seemed impossible. After all that Ruth went through and yet she remained faithful not only to Noemi but also to God. God took her from being a widow, which is a vulnerable position, to be part of the lineage of King David and eventually a part of the lineage of Jesus.
