Article Review: The Origin of Old-Earth Geology and its Ramifications for Life in the 21st Century Introduction Dr. Terry Mortenson published “The Origin of Old-Earth Geology and its Ramifications for Life in the 21st Century” on August 5, 2003. In this article he described how scientist formed opinions of the age of the earth and how it was formed prior to the 19th century. Furthermore he discussed how geology was debated between believers and non-believers. Overview Popular scientist of the times developed a theory of the earth’s age and formation without acknowledging God existed and therefore was not a part of creation. Scientist developed many of their own personal opinions about creation.
A Critical Book Review The Earth After Us: What Legacy Will Humans Leave in the Rocks (2008) By Jan Zalasiewicz The Earth After Us by Jan Zalasiewicz uses geological science to ask the question ‘what precisely will mankind’s legacy be 100 million years hence ?’ (Page, 2009). The Earth After Us uses Geological science to explain the legacy of the human race. The book has wider geographical significance than geological science alone as it encompasses some of the major environmental and climate change issues humans currently face. The cover of the book shows the earth but on closer inspection it is apparent that this is an earth of the future, the land masses not being in their current state but having moved to form one land mass. (Edgeworth, 2009).
MALCOLM X Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska on May 19, 1925 to Earl and Louise Little. Bernard Aquina writes, because of his mixed blood Malcolm was very unusual looking. His grandfather on his mother’s side was Scottish, which gave Malcolm his light skin and sandy-blond hair and eyes that were a mixture of brown, blue, and green (Aquina 4). Even in his younger years Malcolm showed signs of exceptional intelligence. He was close to his father and would often accompany him in his old touring car to Garveyite meetings.
First proposed by Alfred Wegener the meteorologist, the theory of continental drift supports the belief that the Earth's continents once were a single land mass. This land mass, which was named "Pangaea", broke up, and it's various parts drifted away from one another. Centuries ago, trips around the world from travelers showed out lines from every continent around the world. Later on, early mapmakers wondered why these continents fit together so well. Early geologist thought at first that the continents had started off in their places they laid in the present day.
William Lloyd Garrison, Editor of The Liberator, was a key figure in the abolitionary movements. He founded many anti-slavery societies that were sometimes controversial. Many Northerners wanted to free all of the slaves at once. Other people argued for gradual emancipation. Southerners wanted to continue slavery.

Lyell convinced many in the scientific community that geology was better explained by natural processes that occurred over eons rather than all at once by the hand of god. The logical way of Lyell's writing style (he was also a lawyer) easily transmitted his ideas to Darwin during his long voyage in 1837. Lyell's deistic view of geology had influenced Darwin so much that he wrote to his friend, Leonard Horner, ¨... I cannot say how forcibly impressed I am with the infinite superiority of the Lyellian school of geology over the continental. I always feel as if my book came half out of Lyell's brains and that I never acknowledge this sufficiently, nor do I know how I can, with out saying so in so many words- for I have always thought that the great merit of the Principles, was that it altered the whole tone of one's mind and therefore that when seeing a thing never seen by Lyell, one yet saw it partially through his eyes.¨ (Browne 602) Darwin's trip on the Beagle lasted over five years while doing coastal surveys and keeping journals, having ample time to reflect on his findings and come up with his theories.
He named the supposed single land mass on Earth “Pangaea”, meaning All-earth. “Scientists still do not appear to understand sufficiently that all earth sciences must contribute evidence toward unveiling the state of our planet in earlier times, and that the truth of the matter can only be reached by combing all this evidence (Wegener, 1915)”. Continental drift was a theory that became the precursor to plate tectonics. Wegener held a Ph.D. in astronomy; he worked as a professor of meteorology. He had always been interested in geophysics, developing fields of meteorology, and climatology.
Einstein was a physicist, He resided at many countries namely: Germany, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, and The United States of America. He has obtained citizenship in most of the places he resided. He has won some notable awards including a nobel prize in 1921 for his contribution in the field of physics. He acquired interest in science and mathematics at a very young age, When his father gave him a compass and he observed something made the needles move and he began experimenting on how it works. His father Herman Einstein was an Engineer while his mother was called Pauline Einstein.
During the seventeen years in which he was a player, he scored 167 goals in more than 300 appearances. He is called “Sir” because he was knighted by the Queen Elizabeth II in 1999 for his success with Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson became a manager for the first time in 1974 for East Stirlingshire FC. He joined The Red Devils in 1986. As a manager, he is known to be very strict but very respectful to everyone alike.
