Keystone Pipeline The Keystone Pipeline XL System Project, is a pipeline system project which will be used to transport crude oil from Northeastern Alberta, Canada to multiple destinations in the United States. The proposed new pipeline would have the capacity to deliver up to 700,000 barrels of crude oil a day to the United States,and would approximately cost a total of 7 billion dollars.This proposed project is an on going controversial issue involving our countries Executive and Legislative branches battling over the proposed oil pipeline.As a facility connecting the United States with a foreign country, the pipeline requires a Presidential Permit from the State Department.
