Nonprofit Organizations: Pet alliance and Back to Nature Audience: My audience is stated within my essay, people who are animal lovers and those who hope to major in biology. My range of education is from duel enrollment student to college students. They are hoping to be in a career following veterinarian care of some sort. Purpose: The purpose of my paper is to compare and contrast the two local nonprofit organizations, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge and Education Center. On Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando’s website a calendar is given to show all the events, meetings, and clinical duties happening monthly. For instance, their next upcoming event, the 23rd Annual Furball, will be held on October 25 at SeaWorld. At this event they will be recognizing the importance of saving the lives of animals and celebrating those who have. To do so, Pet Alliance will be presenting the very first “Animal Hero Award.” Likewise, Back To Nature’s website also has a calendar that informs people of their events. The upcoming event, known as the Foxtoberfest, will be held on October 18 in Lake Nona. The event is a Farmer’s Market in which recruited vendors will be setting up stations of original products, baked goods, plants, crafts, and more. The vendors will be given an introductory from Back to Nature for a small fee; the fees will go directly to supporting the wildlife and the rehabilitation center at Back To Nature. The responsibilities in this facility are also much more problematic but just as gratifying. Some of the volunteer opportunities include reception and welcome center, marketing and event planning, grant writing, corporate sponsorship, compound maintenance, and animal care. The shifts of volunteers vary from morning to overnight shifts and a volunteer must commit sixteen hours a month, attend training shifts from 9am-1pm, and must be able to offer one consistent day per week for the first three months.
