Casablanca, set in French Morocco in December 1941, is a story about trying to escape your past, the power of luck and the difficulties of neutrality during a time of war. The story centers around Rick Blaine and his cafe, Rick's Cafe American, where refugees come looking for transit papers out of Casablanca to Portugal to escape the Nazis. It also centers around a set of transit papers that Rick has and everyone wants. When a Czech nationalist and his wife show up looking for the papers, it sends Rick into a bender as he was once lovers with the wife back in Paris and seeing her again does not help. The biggest foreshadowing moment is when the transit papers come into Ricks possession.
The afternoon had slowly merged into evening. Hazy light spilling down, marking the imminent start of night. Rick knew that by now he probably could have walked to his apartment in the Upper East Side, yet he still stood by the train, hoping that it would miraculously start up again. He thought of the other passengers waiting for this train at the next station, they probably looked at each other and shared meaningless smiles while restraining their urge to scream out in frustration. Another team of engineers walked up the stairs from the road and met with the existing team.

When a city gets vaporized and a decision to surrender can’t be made within three days, I would assume that surrender isn’t coming and drop another bomb. I know it sounds like I have little regard for life, but you have to think differently when you fight an enemy that isn’t afraid to die. If you take away the honor of dying in battle, then that may make death slightly less desirable. Finally, I think that the usage of the atomic bombs against Japan
Carver finishes with leaving the narrator with his eyes closed imagining the cathedral he has just drawn with Robert. It related two things, how harmful and deadly smoking is and how terrible the terrorist attack was on the Twin Towers. I do believe that this ad along with other ads do help people to quit smoking. Everyone is touched by different things in different ways at different times in their lives. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, the percentage of adults that smoke has declined 3% from 2005 to 2013. As for the terrorists, I do not think that this ad will affect them in any way.
