The United States has seen many attempts on leaders’ lives in its short history. Assassinations have been attempted on fifteen U.S. Presidents, resulting in four deaths. The other eleven attempted murders are often long forgotten by everyday persons, however the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan in March of 1981 has had so many numerous effects on today’s society that it should not be erased from the history boards. What could have started such a ground breaking and on going event? Oddly enough, it began with a film; Taxi Driver starring Robert De Niro and a young Jodie Foster, is about a New York taxi driver who saves the life of a child prostitute by killing a senator.
