New Mexico Strategic Plan

Introduction

The creation of a strategic plan for the University of New Mexico requires an extensive and detailed evaluation of the Remote, Industry, and Operating environments and many of the respective elements that impact the University both positively and negatively. Changes that will affect these environments will also be addressed, with a long term goal of developing a viable strategic plan to insure the continued medical, financial, and educational success for the University of New Mexico.
Environmental analysis of Remote, Industry, and Operating environments are also crucial in helping UNM to align a strategic plan for success and insure its compatibility with the University’s mission, vision and core values.

As UNM is already technologically advanced and tuition at UNM is currently is much lower than UOP’s, it would be a matter of tailoring classes and targeting the adult learner. UNM could compete effectively with UOP for market share in New Mexico and could expand on its goal of becoming a regional University.
