As I get older, years seem to get shorter, and thoughts begin to pile in at a rate that my brain just cannot compute. Naturally some of the less important things like Calculus get tossed by the wayside so other more important information can be saved. Unfortunately sometimes it’s not just the little things we forget, like when I forgot my girlfriend’s birthday. But throughout the years one thing has always remained deeply embedded in my brain, my obsession with sports. When I look back on my past many of my finest memories have involved sports. Whether it was watching the Packers win the Super Bowl or Michael Phelps edging out the competition on his way to 8 gold medals these are the things that I will remember forever. Sports evoke emotion in ways that even the most gut wrenching drama couldn’t do. Some of these moments have even been great enough to be turned into movies such as the Miracle on Ice and Rudy. My point is that sports aren’t just games that people play to pass the time, and the media has done an excellent job of capturing all excitement and passion that goes into them. My most significant relationship with the media is through its synergy with sports. Sports boost my mood, help me stay healthy, and inspire me as well as many others to follow our dreams. Sports are a natural mood enhancer. How else can you explain why every day thousands of people rush into stadiums screaming themselves and everyone around them to near deafness? Luckily for us we live in a day and age where these sporting events can be brought to us through a number of different Medias. Games are broadcast on television and radio stations, as well as their pre and postgame shows. Journalists write articles listing key points as to why their team is going to come out on top. Bloggers rant and rave about why a certain head coach needs to be fired. And with the birth of
