Tim Winton’s novel – Lockie Leonard is a suitable book for teens because all the readers who have or are going through puberty, body changes and that kind of stuff. When the day of their date finally arrived she was practically vibrating with excitement. The date went really well and many dates followed. After a few months Jake asked Mary to have sex with him. She said not now and explained she was not ready for that step. The next day at school Mary saw Jake talking to another girl and found out he has been dating many girls besides her.
Romulus feels that they belong together and as such was in a happy mood when he was speaking to Lydia. This is explained by the mentions of Romulus happily whistling away and the quote “I do not remember him more happy… it was a small wonder why he was always whistling and singing”. However, when he finds out that Lydia is already married, his sense of belonging is shattered and he becomes depressed, resulting in his mental illness. Thus once again Romulus had been denied a family relationship with a wife and thus if Raimond and later on Milka had not been there a sense of family belonging as well. So, in conclusion, ‘Romulus, My Father’ is a text that deals with Romulus’ pursuit of belonging to a new country and belonging in a family.

Sammy is a typical teenage boy trying to get a pretty girl of his age attention. At one point towards the end, he literally goes out of his way to get noticed by the “Queenie” but fails.
