My Dream Job My dream job is to become an OB/GYN that is short for an obstetrician gynecologist. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve dreamt of the day where I can finally transform my dream into reality. Many people don’t really understand why anyone would want to become that, or aren’t really sure how someone knows they have that special calling, but in my heart I’ve never been so sure of anything else. As I grew up I remember seeing my aunt and just hoping to follow her footsteps, she is an OB/GYN and she is the one responsible for me having this dream. It always caught my attention the passion she had for it and the rewarding feeling she described once she realized that a new baby was born into this world. She always said how moments like those were unforgettable and she couldn’t be more content that she had the chance to help them come true. If you ask me, being an OB/GYN is a life-altering career, it is rewarding but requires a lot of time, dedication, and passion for what you are doing. Because of the long hours the job requires it is important you really love what you are doing, if not, you may find yourself unhappy. Like every doctor, you never know when you are going to be called or needed, but this specific field is especially unpredictable, mostly because the birth of a child can occur before it is planned to happen, as well as complications being common in these situations. If I could describe this job in one word I would use “contrast”. This is because in one second the life of a newborn can impact the life of their families forever. It is the tears of joy running down a mothers face that truly show the happiness that the long awaited moment has finally arrived.
