Music In Everyday Life Rian Fayaz CAT 1 Professor David Borgo Section 755068 12/14/12 Music, a simple hum or a complex combination of sound and lyrics portrayed as a song. The variation on music and it's aspects are quite monumental but even a simplistic human being can grasp it and give it meaning. The sheer beauty of music lies in the connect formed by the listener established over just seconds of listening. You engage with music on a daily basis, whether you are a recording artist or a businessman, whether you're rocking a pair of beats, listening to your favorite tune, or you're in an elevator listening to the melody playing. Sound travels at a rate of 768 mph, there is really no escaping it. We are by virtue exposed to it whether it'd be by choice or not. I feel the engagement with music embodies our life, it reflects in our activities, thoughts and the way we conduct our lives. The cohesion of music and life is an essential one; without it we'd be losing out on a great deal. Beethoven's fifth symphony or LMFAO's Sexy and I Know It, are vastly different. The audiences differ, the technology used in the music differ, the generations differ but the music is still music nonetheless. As soon as one or the other is projected into the atmosphere with the help of multiple speakers, people are automatically thrust into the experience that is listening and forced to engage with what they hear. The party rockers stand still to Beethoven as they intake the combination of keys strung together to create a masterpiece whereas the pianists and members of the older generation feel a rush through their system with the beats that accompany the song by LMFAO. These songs are different but one thing they have in common is reflecting an emotional quality to it's listener. Whether you're jiving to the rhythm or relating to the lyrics of heartbreak.
