After actually doing this research I continue to be Pro-Choice, but with some limitations. I do believe that it is the right of a woman to decide matters over her own body. A woman should be able to have an abortion if the fetus develops with any diseases or disorders that are detrimental to quality of life. I do not think a woman should have a child that they do not want or can not support either be financially or emotionally, because the child is the one that will suffer. The child is most likely be mistreated, abused, and neglected at no fault of their own.
If your child wants to protect themselves whether it’s from getting pregnant or whatever it may be, why stop them. They are being responsible for their own actions and body. In conclusion, if a teen feels mature enough about making the decision to have sex they should be mature enough to be safe and responsible about it. Teens don’t feel comfortable asking their parents for these types of things so I think it’s good for birth control to be accessed without parent consent. It won’t only help to protect the teens, but it will help other heath issues to.
We should teach the new generations that abstinence is the best way to not get pregnant. Women in general need to be educated on forms of birth control, so that they can plan their families wisely. This will teach them to stop using abortion as a form of birth control. If we don’t, then people will start to think that another easy way to birth control is abortion. If we don’t stop or teach these women in general on what are right or what is wrong then who will?
Hypothetically, you are in a rape situation. You do not want to have to re-live that memory every day when you look at your child, but it is not the child’s fault that situation happened. They should not be killed over something a cruel individual did to you. They deserve to have a life as well. Babies are innocent and should not be murdered.
Therefore, abortion would not be a defiance against God. Another main point of the argument is over the woman's personal rights, versus the rights of the unborn child. Pro-choice activists maintain that regardless of the individual circumstances, women should have the right to chose whether or not to abort. The pregnancy and labor will affect only the woman's body, therefore it should be the woman's decision. Pro-life supporters, on the other hand, believe that the unborn child has the right to life, and that abortion unlawfully takes away that right.
If a woman wants to control her family size, there are not only oral contraceptives, but condoms as well. By combining the two, you are increasing your chance of not getting pregnant. It is a woman’s right to be sexually active if she chooses to, however, responsibility comes with that. If a woman does not want to get pregnant, then she should prevent it with every effort, rather than just turn to abortion to fix her irresponsibility. Next they will argue that you have a right to control your family size, but in doing so by abortion.
Though some may disagree on this point, the fact is that legalized abortion is the only option that will protect the lives of American citizens. One only needs to look into American history to see the results of prohibiting abortions to women. The process of abortions has definitely come a long way. Even after abortion was legalized, women were still very afraid to go to the abortion facilities because they were afraid of being attached just for entering the building. It is better now that they have a place to go where abortions can be performed cleanly and with minimal risk.
Abortions are performed for many reasons, varying from rape and incest to teenage and fatalistic pregnancies. However, more and more political bills are trying to do whatever they can to dissuade these women from going through with the operation, with no regard as to what situation has brought them to this conclusion in the first place. It has reached a point where protestors from all over the nation have become infuriated with the absurd and medically unnecessary procedures
Women who chose to have control over their bodies should then exercise proper contraceptive practices or also partake in abstinence. The idealogical stance being that if you are not able or willing to support a child, then refraining from having sexual intercourse is absolutely necessary. Abstinence is the only way to completely prevent the need for abortion. Again, the abortion process is damaging psychologically and physically. Instead
Pro Choice A topic that is very controversial in today’s American society is whether or not abortions and stem cell research should be legal or not. There are more facts that prove these topics should be legal. The 9th Amendment states the American’s right of pro choice. Abortion should be kept legal because there are many reasons why the mother should not have the baby. Also because abortions are legal then stem cell research should be made legal because if a fetus is already killed then it can still be put to good scientific research and possibly help another human being.
