It's part of children's learning about self care and personal hygiene. We can help them do this by encouraging to wash hands before and after eating, after using the toilet and washing their faces with individual flannels. It's also important to teach them the difference between hot and cold water such as red means hit and blue means cold on taps to prevent them burning themselves whilst at the same never leaving a child unattended with water. Babies are different from children they need their nappies changed regularly to prevent any sores or infections and moisturising the skin well.
There are a number of ways that personnel’s can prevent and control infection in a health and social care setting. Personnel’s in a health and social care setting include , nurses , Doctors, cleaners, nursery assistants and nursery teachers. Nurses should thoroughly wash and dry their hands before and after caring for a patient, before and after touching any potentially contaminated equipment or dressings, after bed making and before handling food. Their hands can be washed with soap and water or, a fast-acting antiseptic solution like a hand wipe or hand gel. They should also wear Disposable gloves when physical contact with open wounds, for example when changing dressings, handling needles or inserting an intravenous drip.
Unit 4 – task 2 P4.4 The activity I have chosen is hand washing this supports children in their hygiene routines because they are expected to wash their hands before and after every meal time, before and after a food activity, after going outside and after going the toilet. This means it is part of a child’s everyday routine and therefore they will be used to washing their hands as it is a basic care need. P4.5 The activity of the children washing their hands is very affective because it is a basic care need and the children can also learn many things from washing their hands. For example the practitioner can explain to them how important it is for them to wash their hands and also the consequences if they fail to wash their hands. It also is very effective because it lets children socialise with practitioners because they can ask questions and talk whilst washing their hands.
Then she is pulling up the front part of her underwear and trousers and we make sure that they are up on the back also. We make sure that she is tidy and clean, then we help her transfer back to the wheelchair, put on the safety belt, the footplates. In the end we prompt her to wash her hands and dry them. Outcome 4 4.1 Before giving a shower or personal care we must ensure that the room and water temperatures meet the individual’s needs and preferences for washing or bathing or mouth care. I always ask the client what temperature is ok, they touch the water with the hand and tell me if it has to be more hot or cold until they confirm that it is the right temperature for them.

It should also be conclusive and accessible to meet and value the needs of every individual child in the setting. The environment should be free from diversity and discrimination of any kind and should promote creativity to help encourage children to be positive and friendly towards others and each other. Also it is a warm, happy, and suitable place where children can learn play and develop themselves. (Megitt, 2011).
Every child is different, so some may need more support than others; this is why observations are important. Positive communication is very important as this can help build a Childs interaction skills, self esteem and confidence. It’s vital you always have eye contact with that child, and allow them to finish what they are saying. In order to boost their self esteem a child should always be praised, this will make them feel more confident and willing to try. Adapting the environment to help children with their speech and language needs can be done by using visual signs that children can understand, for example you could label the home corner, dress up area, book corner and so on.
Unit 010 - Support Children and Young People's Positive Behavior 1.1 - Describe the policies and procedures of the setting relevant to promoting children and young people's positive behavior In the setting relevant, the policies and procedures in promoting children and young peoples positive behavior is stated clearly on page 6 of the policies and procedures. The setting relevant has made it their aim to provide an environment for children to feel happy and stimulated, in order to prevent any child feeling unhappy or behaving inappropriately. In order to do this, part of their policy is to praise children for good behavior on a regular basis. Staff may see a child tidying up nicely as asked by them, in which case the staff member will praise the child for tidying up by thanking the child and saying "good tidying". The child will respond well to this and they are likely to repeat the action to gain the praise from a staff member.
Children’s sense whom they are shaped by their characteristics, their behaviour, and their understanding of themselves, their families and others. Belonging is about having a secure relationship with or a connection with a particular group of people. When children feel a sense of belonging and sense of pride in their families, their peeps, and their communities, they can be emotionally strong, self-assured and able to deal with their challenges and difficulties. This creates an important foundation for their learning Giving children messages of respect, love, approval and encouragement enables them to develop a positive sense of who they are and a feeling that they have an important contribution to make wherever they are. Positive messages about their families, background, cultures and languages help children to develop pride in who they are.
Above, I stated why the topics should be addressed and how important it is for children to have organizations to help better themselves, by being healthy, social, a developing the skills that they should by having open play and encounter with parents, friends, teachers and families. Next, information was given on how important nurture can be for children. Children receive nurturing through social-emotional development and cognitive growth development. Then we went on to discuss the long-term goals, which I believe that they will excel to the highest extreme. Last, we discussed the effectiveness and showed evidence of how it will be effective.
We believe that children should develop a happy way of being together, that their self-respect leads to a respect for the rights and needs of other children and adults; a respect which promotes equality and values the diverse local community.
