Recovery from either storm can vary based on how bad the storm was. Repair for both can range from small exterior tasks to actually having to rebuild an entire house or business. Most people believe that hurricanes are far more dangerous than tornadoes. This is usually due to the fact that hurricanes often get more time on the news. Tornadoes actually travel faster than hurricanes, moving close to 250 miles per hour.
Hurricanes and tsunamis are two of the many natural disasters in the world. They are very different but yet alike and affect people in the world everyday. To further examine the natural disasters, let us take a look at the formation, death toll, and reconstruction cost of hurricanes and tsunamis. Many scientists have researched and studied how hurricanes and tsunamis are formed. Hurricanes, also called typhoons in other parts of the world, start as thunderstorms.
Tornadoes VS Hurricanes The United States offers many horrifying weather conditions which put most of people on our toes. Tornados and hurricanes are both similar in that they are both Mother Nature’s creation for disaster, but they differ in size, power, and predictability. These conditions produce relentless winds and flow of down pour. Hurricanes and tornados have the ability to kill anything that gets in their twirling path and indeed are human’s most expensive experience known to mankind. Hurricanes are born over warm, tropical oceans, because they are generated by water vapor produced by the warm water surface.
In many cases the emergency responders may become victims themselves and citizens can no longer be evacuated and receive care in a timely manner. Under the Stafford Act, if the governor of the disaster state finds that the magnitude of the disaster prevents the effective response of the state and local governments, and that federal assistance is necessary, he or she may request that the President declare an emergency or a major disaster (Federal Highway Administration, 2011). Another aspect of evacuation is sheltering displaced individuals. All three levels of government provide resources such as temporary shelter, food, water, and toiletries. When displaced individuals need long-term sheltering, the federal government provides financial assistance for alternative accommodations such as apartments, hotels, and modular units (Federal Highway Administration,
Wisconsin Wisconsin is vulnerable to a wide range of hazards, Natural hazards such as floods, tornadoes, winter storms and excessive heat have caused injuries, loss of life, disruption of essential services, considerable property damage and crop damage. Being as though Wisconsin tends to have more tornadoes than any of these other hazards (according to sources), I am going to focus on what a tornado is and how they affect the state of Wisconsin. A tornado is a relatively short- lived storm composed of an intense rotating column of air, extending from a thunderstorm cloud system. It is nearly always visible as a funnel, although its lower end does not necessarily touch the ground. Average winds in a tornado are somewhere between 100 and 200 miles per hour, but some may have winds exceeding 300 miles per hour.
These necessities would include food, water, toiletries, and clothing. Housing options would include trailers, hotels, shelters, and foster options within a few hundred miles of the damaged areas. In addition, FEMA will assist in bringing families together and helping people cope with the dire situation. The president must be quick to respond to the situation at hand. First he must instruct the local governments to utilize their resources and amass their volunteers while the national government prepares to

For the money that is donated, with what may come as extra money, they provide emergency relief to those who have been through a major disaster. For example, when Louisiana and Texas went through hurricane Katrina, as soon as the storm cleared, Care was there to provide as much food as they could. There were many people who were without their homes, vehicles, jobs, but Care was there to help them with mainly food, and attempt to provide some shelter. If by chance I was to donate a large amount of money to Care, I would like to know where my money was spent. I would want to know what family it provided food for, and how it was able to help any family.
Throughout the United States, we face different types of weather conditions. Some places experience snow storms, dust storms, hurricanes, and tornados. Each of these storms is different in some way and form differently. In this paper I will compare and contrast a hurricane to a tornado. While both hurricanes and tornados are wind and rain storms, they both are most likely to form at different times of the year.
