Robert Smithson Many artists have found inspiraton in the natural world, only a few have gazed at the earth with a desire to add to it. Among these artists is a man who has revolutionized contemporary art that would bring to question the issues of materials, permanence, function, and presentation(Robertsmithson.org.) Robert Smithson was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, and ever since childhood, had marveled over the forms of earth and animals. From fascination, grew a talent for art that gained him a scholorship at the Art Students League in New york, where he studied for two years and later became an advocate of abstract expressionism. Many artists, authors, filmmakers, etc., have used Louisiana as the setting for their art. Two authors in particular display the magnitude of Louisiana’s tradition and culture in American society. Two novels that our class has read this semester stood out to me and led me to better appreciate my home state. Walker Percy’s The Moviegoer and Ernest Gaines’s A Lesson Before Dying show Louisiana in a different light than many normally see the state. The novels take place in different parts of the state, all the
Buzz Aldrin, a part of the Apollo Mission, who first landed on the moon, swears he saw a UFO. He saw some weird lights and a ship on their way to the moon way back 1969. Another alien and UFO was narrated by an Air Force Officer. According to FOX news, Lt. Walter Haut released an affidavit after his death that not only did he saw a UFO, but also some alien bodies. In the other part of the world, doctors found some “materials” that are unlike anything on Earth.
For example, the first book which was on this subject was made by Bill Kaysing who he himself published was called ‘’We never went to the Moon: America’s Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle’’. It was released in 1974 which was just after two Apollo missions were succeeded. This is one of the mass public medias that made people believed that it was an hoax. Another example which reinforced this idea is a film called Capricorn One. This movie is about a mission similar to the Apollo’s where several astronauts are ready to take off to space, but there was a problem with the rocket so they had to fake it to make the public believe.
The author establishes pathos by talking about how this event has changed the world forever and also because he talks about death. The third and final text, A Symbol of Man’s Greatness, is about a man (the author) who is watching Apollo 11 take off in person at the space center. The purpose of this text is to tell the story about his personal experience and feeling about the historical launch to go to the moon. The interaction among the speaker and the audience effects the text because the speaker talks about their own personal experiences. The audience of this text would be anyone that read this article or book at that time or for people who are interested in reading it

Ambiguous in meaning, his subject matter conveys a reflection of his childhood memories and his everyday cognizance. In the Modern Art museum of Ft. Worth, Vernon Fisher allows the audience to see works of his entire career to date. In this presentations he used anything from paintings to sculptures and of course installations from the late 1970’s to the present. These works are from public collection, but we are also treated with some pieces from his private collection as well.
