LCPL Stevens FIRST TO FIGHT This book is very informative talking about the numerous struggles the Marine Corps have endured, history that has shaped the branch to where its now, the relationship between Marines themselves aka the brotherhood , etc. The Marine Corps are highlighted as argubably the most functionable and elite of all services in the United States of America. The men and women are all disciplined and are instilled with honor, courage, and commitment that have brought them through many conflicts physically and mentally. The hardships were very genuine initally the first enlistees were without weapons for several months and the uniforms they wore went through harsh conditions that quickly disfigured them. The Congress had doubt of the USMC in the beggining they were scarce with limited combat expierience.
The huge chapter on Perry's background is the longest of the book. It reflects the fact that Perry is the most well-developed character in the novel. Capote reports that of the two prisoners, each of whom he interviewed countless times, he was closer to Perry. This is a considerable statement when one takes into account the fact another Capote statement. Before they were executed, he claimed, he was closer to Perry and Dick than to anyone else in the world.
Tactical Patrol Force Most important unit in the police department is the patrol unit; they are the first to be at a scene of a crime. Accountability Diana Rupert November 21, 2014 Law enforcement officers are held at the highest level of accountability for their actions. This is toward the community, the officers themselves and the police department. (Peak 2012) As soon as a police officer puts on their uniform and badge everything changes. He goes and gets behind the wheel of his cruiser. From here on out till his shift ends every decision he is about to make has to be accountability.
All members agreed that King should lead the boycott because he was young, had family connections and he was newest to the society so he had the fewest enemies. There was 382 days following this speech where blacks were to walk to work, be harassed, and endure violence from the white community. Martin Luther King Jr., along with some other Civil Rights leaders, founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, “a new organization emerged to combat racism and segregation through nonviolent tactics.” (DeBlasio) They helped conduct nonviolent protests to promote civil rights reform.
