Bad The choreography in the music video “Bad” by Michael Jackson is a group dance where mostly all players are in sync with their sharp and quick movements to the beat. In West Side Story’s “Cool” the dance begins with only one person dancing and then eventually progresses into the whole group dancing. The West Side Story dance moves are slow and continuous as they dance to jazz-like music. In “Bad” the dancers move up and down stairs in what appears to be some sort of garage or train station, as they dance and leap around. The dancers in “Cool” move around but stay in the same area or room as they group dance in a setting similar to the one in “Bad.” The movement in Michael Jackson’s “Bad” is very quick as they move from move to move, swaying their hips and dancing to the beat. The dance is at a fast pace as they dancers are constantly moving form place to place as they execute their moves. West Side Story’s “Cool” has a slower movement as they dance to an orchestra and sing. They throw their hands in the air often and move at a slower pace while also staying in the same place for the most part. The movements in “Bad” are very different to those in “Cool” because both dances have different paces and styles to which they dance to the also very different songs. The dances in “Bad” and “Cool” are also similar in many ways, as they are both a group of dancers who dance in sync. Both dances take place in similar locations, as it appears to be a large garage or some sort of train station. The songs “Cool” and “Bad” are both danced to and interpreted in a way that the song is describing the group of young adults who are dancing to the song.
