Business Analysis II Joshua Dean MGT/521 6-25-2012 Alisa Fleming Business Analysis II This paper will discuss the financial health of Apple Inc. It will look at Apple’s own income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow along with looking at the company’s health compared to two of their competitors, Microsoft and Google. By comparing Apple to their competitors readers will be able to better understand the financial strength of Apple Inc. Apple’s financial statements only go through 2011 because their fiscal year finishes at the end of September and is released in late October. The information that will be used is from their 2010 statements. According to Google’s 2010 income statement the basic stock was worth $26.69 and the diluted was worth $26.61. In 2009 the basic stock was worth $20.62 and the diluted stock was worth $20.41, (Google.com, 2010). The net income for 2010 was $10,381 billion and the net income for 2009 was $6,520 billion, (Google.com, 2010). The operating costs in 2010 were $18,940 billion and in 2009 they were $15,339 billion, (Google.com, 2010).
