Furthermore, it addresses the treatment method and type of team approach used for therapy as well issues related to funding and service delivery of AAC services. Before meeting the students Joe and John, I met briefly with Jen, the speech language pathologist (SLP) to discuss my assignment and the expectations and treatment outcomes. Both students use direction selection, AAC devices.
Rewards should be simple to implement, easy to record, inexpensive, and nondisruptive (Levin & Nolan, 2000; Smith & Rivera, 1993). Reinforcers which are selected by students themselves are often more motivating than those selected for them (Alberto & Troutman, 2003; Smith & Rivera, 1993). A variety of positive reinforcers should be available over time to prevent rewards from losing their effectiveness or motivating properties (Jones & Jones, 1998). Several types of reinforcers can function as rewards, including social, activity/ privilege, and tangible reinforcers (Alberto & Troutman, 2003; Emmer, Evertson, & Worsham, 2003). (See Types of Criterion- Specific Rewards Chart at the end of this STAR Sheet) For learning new or reinforcing difficult skills, more intensive rewards such as tangible or material rewards may be warranted.
I was provided a questionnaire that asked me to rate his responses and behaviors in various situations. I also needed to provide the same questionnaire to his teacher at school and another relative that had interactions with my child. • If coded, answers can be fairly easily collated and summarised, e.g. in charts, statistical form. • A large amount of data can be collected fairly quickly. • In general terms, questionnaires are relatively cheap – although not necessarily if it is a large project. • If sampled carefully, the data should be reliable and representative.
The major areas of development include biological, cognitive and social and emotional development. Both of these psychologists were concerned with the study of understanding the area of cognitive development specifically in children and were considered to be constructivists. Constructivism is the theory in which “learners actively construct their own knowledge based upon the things they know now and have known in the past” (TFL resources, 2006). This essay will seek to compare and contrast the theories of psychologists Piaget and Vygotsky and will critically look at their theories to judge which aspects are appropriate for the long term. Jean Piaget focused his research on studying children and observing their thought processes.

Focus groups are also good to hold because if the group didn’t respond well to the product then Tesco can take that on board and change it before they release it. After the focus group give their personal and group feelings about what they thought about the product the organisation can think about improvements and how to change it, in order to gain sales for when they release it later on. However the focus group individual will be valid as all opinions are closely monitored. Lastly focus groups can save time and money compared to the individual interviews. * The limitations of focus groups on the other hand is there being disagreements and other discussion going
1 February 2012 A Deeper Analysis into Autism Spectrum Disorders The first response paper was based off of the article titled Autism Spectrum Disorders: Diagnosis, Prevalence, and Services for Children and Families. This article mainly focused on the prevalence of ASD, and the impact it has on today’s society. I found this article to be very informative and beneficial towards our understanding of the child’s motor and intelligence development. Through reading this article we, as a class, will be able to assess the development of an infant’s intelligence more deeply. The article speaks about how ASD is an epidemic.
