Locus of Control Assessment Locus of control is either external or internal. After taking the assessment it determined that I possess an internal locus of control rather than an external locus of control. In other words the outcomes within my control based and determined by my hard work, attributes, or decisions. External locus is the opposite where the outcomes outside our control such as fate and luck. I came across a very intersecting source (Mind Tools Ltd, 1996-2012) based on internal and external locus. Not only did this article explain the two but it even provided a similar assessment that I previously took. Another source was found and the questionnaire contained 13 questions which were developed by Rotter (1966). After taking this tell it gave me the same results that I had an internal locus. Now the question is which control of locus is the correct one to possess? In my honest opinion I am have an internal locus control for a reason. I believe it is best to have control of your own things and not let the outside effect it. That is why the majority of people have so much stress because they think nature or belief that their destiny is doing it on purpose or making them have a hard time. I do not think that this is the case. We control what affects us also what makes us happy or sad and what we permit to hurt us. My job at work made us take a test because they look for perfectionist to do their work. That is a downside because internal control may seem to arrogant it can even push a person to a point where it may affect ones health or psychological stability. External can influence bad behavior such as being late for work due to the traffic or bad weather. People have low self-esteem and motivation. The good side of this is they are humble and
