We are all different from heads to toes; our body system is different from everyone else. There are many points that Pollan is trying to point out, but I will provide you with different meals that I want to share with you and that will be healthy and not everything is like Pollan tries to explain. There are many different types of bodies, most likely divided into three sections the first one would be slim, then it would be a fit body, and lastly a thick body. Thin people just have a different type of metabolism which burns the food faster. This means that they need different types of nutrition’s.
There are many more examples of how livestock and meat impact a culture and show the reasons why most cultures will place a high value on meat versus plants. Though farming plants can be incredibly profitable there are many risk factors in it. Cultures that rely on farming must contend with the environment, petulance, and
I take great pride in going against the cultural eating patterns that have negatively impacted billons of people on this earth. The fate of individual people and the fate of humanity have been intertwined more than ever because of the negative eating practices that a great majority of humans participate in. The expression “you are what you eat” could not be any closer to the truth. Length and quality of life are directly proportional to the eating patterns that humans practice. I cannot fathom disrespecting my body by torturing it with excess meat, junk food and dairy products.
Organically Processed Red Meat VS Mainstream Processed Red Meat The way we eat has changed more in the past 50 years than it has ever. Grocery stores seem to offer a vast variety of food, and brands, but really it is all controlled buy just a few companies. Most importantly our red meat industry has been boiled down to 4 companies, (Tyson, Swift, Cargill, and National Beef) which supply 80 percent of our country’s red meat. I would like to focus on the health, ecological, and ethical differences between eating mainstream processed red meat, and organically processed red meat. There is any number of well-publicized reasons for not eating red meat.
Comparing two non-fiction texts Text A is an informative RSPCA website article, particularly aimed at adults or people interested in animals, such as farmers. The website is informing people about how the RSPCA would like abattoirs to have CCTV installed to be aware of how animals are treated before and during slaughter. The perspective of the author is from somebody who works for the RSPCA so you would assume they are keen to support the welfare of animals. Text B is a leaflet which uses persuasive language, encouraging people to stop eating meat. The audience for this leaflet would mainly be meat-eaters, as vegetarians would not need encouragement to be something they are already.
But it wasn’t until I watched Food Inc., that my perception of the food industry shift and I started to watch out for what I eat. Food Inc. is a documentary by Robert Kenner that exposes the secrets that the food industry hides from the public. The documentary uses contrasting images of an ideal country life with the harsh truth of the food factories with their unsanitary conditions. By using horrific scenes, interviews, testimonials, and many other ways to convince their audience that the food industry does not have our best interest. Food Inc. affectively convinces the audience with the use of logos, ethos, and pathos, that there are problems within the food industry that are negatively affecting everyone’s lives thus we should take action against big businesses in the food industry.
There is no longer any doubt about the fact that eating meat is bad for your health. The list of diseases known to be associated with meat, which are commoner among meat eaters, looks like the index of a medical textbook. Anaemia, appendicitis, arthritis, breast cancer, cancer of the colon, cancer of the prostate, constipation, diabetes, gall stones, gout, high blood pressure, indigestion, obesity, piles, strokes and varicose veins are just some of the well known disorders which are more likely to affect meat eaters than vegetarians. Avoiding meat is one of the best and simplest ways to cut down your fat consumption. Those who still eat beef are, in my view, foolishly exposing themselves to the risk of contracting the horrifying human version of Mad Cow Disease.
The high fat of the meat is important as the authors argue that the selling of mutton flaps to the peoples of the Pacific Islands “involves political, ethical, and health issues of important to us all (Errington and Gewertz, 1). Whenever the “other” (non White) is involved in the less than admirable aspects of food production or trade, it is usually in the role of underprivileged farm workers or illegal immigrants (Errington and Gewertz, 2). This is one of the areas where mutton flap production and consumption differs from that of other higher quality cuts of meat. Mutton flaps are produced on regulated farms by (White) Australians and New Zealanders, where the working conditions are sensible (Errington and Gewertz, 4). After the mutton flaps are processed, however, they are sent away to be consumed by the (Brown) people of the Pacific Islands (Errington and Gewertz).
Genetically Modified Foods Labeling Problems Genetically modified foods have developed massively to satisfy customers’ demand, but they have caused some controversies in society in recent decades, especially over labeling problems. Some people think that labeling GM foods will cause a decrease in consuming them. However, others think that this may help consumers categorize suitable products for them. There are three main reasons for mandatorily tagging GM foods. Let’s see how much you know about genetically modified foods and why people have to label them?
I write this essay because I CARE ABOUT OUR HEALTH. One reason our planet should convince fat people to exercise because if there were a ton of fat people eating ALL of OUR FOOD then it would be a global CRISIS. People would starve and wars would begin in the fight for food (or survival). Well anyways, fat people are proven to eat more food because their heavy weight causes them to use for energy while moving so to make up for that lost energy, food is needed. We are not like plants that make their own food, we are omnivores who hunt and scavenge for any type of non-rotten food that is cooked.
