Because of the impact of the society and parents plus the evolution of new technologies, young people are less and less able to communicate face to face. Young people are losing the ability to socialize face to face because of parents and society. A few decades ago, parents and the society used to be more flexible about freedom. Nowadays, a lot of parents choose to “shortened the leash on their kids” by limiting their independence because they feel that it is the best way to protect their children from what is happening in the outside world such as child-abduction for example. Not only are parents stricter, but the actual society as well.
If you really want to stop kids from getting into gangs, the parents just have to support their children and spend time with them to see how they’re doing. If children know they have someone who is going to support them and who cares for them, they may not have to go to the streets and rely on them to survive just to live another day. Like the saying “Every man has good woman behind them” if every kid had good family supporting them everyone’s lives would be much easier. As adults we should understand as we get older there are more responsibilities and things for us to do, but that doesn’t mean that parents don’t support us any more because we’re kids and we are still learning to become adults. (McHugh pg 166) Until we get to the age of not being treated like a child, we won’t need their guidance to make sure that we stay on the right path and are being the best people we can be.
These concerns were rooted in the fact that most of the parents never experienced this type of freedom at their age and didn’t know how to empathize with their children anymore. Another major concern is that parents didn’t know if teens would outgrow this rebellious phase of their lives and grow up because never before were their a teenager before who knew what these rebellious kids would turn out like. In conclusion the teenage culture of the 1950s was a reaction to all the new freedoms granted to kids along with the influence of popular culture and the money in their wallets to spend on themselves. Parents were initially concerned of the well being of teens but as time passed by teenage life is an accepted
Because parents love their children, they allow their children waste food and they always satisfy what their children want to eat and don’t want to eat. They always make children’s favorite food for them. But Nader’s mother never made the can food and fast food for her children. She requires her children eat
For a society to ever succeed there must is work to be done and everyone must contribute in some way. Most of the littluns could not contribute very much, only being able to reach some fruit and spending the rest of their time playing. The bigger kids had the capability of contributing to the society but since it was a “free society” they chose to swim and play instead. For example, Ralph told all the bigger kids to help Simon build shelters but instead Simon worked on them by himself and almost no progress was
Being raised in a low income area surrounded by people living the same lifestyle as you as if struggling is the norm of society. Children learn from early in their adolescent years adapt to their environment if they see their parents living in the projects in most cases they won’t have any means to get out of the projects. Children are affected mainly because of what they see not all but quite a few children are comfortable living the same way they grew up . No matter the situation the child comes from it will never determine their fate.
if they are never handled once and for all. It is easier for children if they first experience separation in small steps. Sleeping alone is one of the first steps, though all families don’t agree with babies sleeping by themselves. A different kind of separation has impacted many families in the past few years and it is that of military duty overseas in war zones. Some children walk right into child care without a batting an eye.
Twenge says, “There’s this idea that, ‘Yeah, I don’t want to work, but I’m still going to get all the stuff I want” (Peck 303). Some young adults have not even left their home before. They enjoy staying at home and not realizing that they should go out to find jobs. The main reason why young adults do not want to work is that their parents still guide them like children. Today, millions young adults are facing real problems: lack of job opportunities, housing, and trying to survive in a fast, globalized world.
Because being a teacher was to be with children and teach them what was right and wrong, just like mothers. In this period, men didn’t think for one second to be a maid, nurse or teacher, because they were meant for women to do and they were too manly for those jobs. Before the war employers didn’t hire women because they believed they were jobs assigned for men (nps.gov). Most women gave up work when they married, though some women kept working after marriage because they couldn't afford to give up their jobs. Working after marriage was generally something done mainly by poor women.
Men like "simple" women, not women who are fake, stupid and can’t think for themselves (and it’s so easy to tell them apart). Remember the first time you got drunk (or stoned)? I’m sure you didn’t want to start, but a "friend" pushed you, you did it, and now you like it! That shows you can’t think for yourself. Sadly, people who are truly themselves, and stick to their values and beliefs tend to be alone and get overlooked often, but that’s not their problem.
