There are many things that I do that contribute to the overall delivery of the service provider, for example I provide the best possible care I can give to the service users & families of those service users by communicating effectively & being involved in their day to day activities and personal needs I may also write their daily reports in deep detail. I read and sign all the service users care plans to ensure I can provide the correct and safest care. Bvii Explain how you could influence the quality of the service provided by: a). Following best practice within your work role; As a guidance to follow the best practice I use the Codes of Practice and Care Quality Commission`s outcomes from which I can learn more to improve my practice.
Thompson (2009) suggests that supervision is a process through which an organization empowers staff to meet organizational objectives, which involves a number of tasks from monitoring work tasks and workloads to ensuring legal and organizational requirements and policies are adhered to. Ensuring that Health and safety legislation is adhered to is an example of how the SCA operates within the role of supervisor, making sure that junior care staff are made aware of residents mobility needs by referring them to the relevant risk assessments, important too is the need to ensure that staff are aware of the correct use of all equipment used to transfer residents including safety checks prior to use and the appropriate method for storing said equipment after use, it is the supervisors responsibility to inform and instruct staff where there is evidence of uncertainty or misunderstanding of the correct health and safety
These include people such as: Social Workers, Physiotherapist and Nurses etc. The main and important statement is to make sure everything is done according to policies and procedures and according to the government law. 1.2- Explain expectations about own work role as expressed in the relevant standards My expectations are to progress further with my career, increase my knowledge, experience and understanding. Should an employee not gain knowledge of any new information on practices, they are liable for any future errors, which could lead to a potential safeguarding issue bought upon them. An employee that continually improves on their knowledge of the sector, policies, procedures, the organisation in which they work for and their job role, is showing a great work ethic and an ideal role model for other colleagues and team members. An employee working within the health and social care sector should also be aware of their personal abilities and where professional development is needed. An employee should ensure that they are fully trained in their particular job role and should there be any changes to their role or the organisation, an employee should include themselves in the re-training process. For example, my role as a Care Supervisor has currently undergone a split in the role, bringing on a support supervisor to take on half of the role's daily tasks.
1.3 Standards reflect the changes in the profession such as emphasis on personalised, quality service. I always follow the code of practice which is ; • You must always protect the rights and promote the interests of the service user and carer • Establish and maintain the trust and confidence of the service users and carers • Promote the Independence of the service users while protecting them as far as possible from danger • Respect the rights of the service user while seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people • Uphold public trust and confidence in social care services • You must be accountable for the quality of your work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills. I follow all these by treating a service user as an individual , treating them and maintaining a person dignity ,values , along with allow an servicer to make informed choices and by the service they receive ,Adhering to all policies and procedures ,communicating in an appropriate way . Letting a service user take risk and help them manage any risk .I always take responsibility for my work and training and getting help and advice when needed . 1.4 A persons own beliefs and values could affect working practice as it could result in neglect of that persons dignity and respect taking away the persons control and you could be breaking codes
Ensuring physical and emotional needs of residents are met and to promote the health and safety of those people I support, are also important in my care worker role. To support nursing care where indicated is important when promoting the health of the individual. My role also involves me assisting with travel and attendance at doctors appointments and recognising health issues and booking appointments. As well as supporting the resident, I also support their family members. As individuals needs can often change, it is my responsibility to ensure all record keeping is kept up to date, also ensuring my training needs are kept up to date, so that I am working at the standards required to meet my role.
Assignment 206 Task B Bi 'Agreed ways of Working' The policies and procedures written by the employer set out how you should provide care and support for others and how you should deal with specific issues in your work setting. These should include policies and procedures relating to health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality, data protection, supervision, waste management, moving and handling, handling medication, and security and safeguarding. These should identify the general approach that the company takes towards an issue, they should incorporate all of the legal requirements affecting care work and should reflect the safest and most effective ways of carrying out particular tasks. It is essential that you understand and follow these policies and procedures to ensure that you are working in ways agreed by your employer. The duties and responsibilities of your role as a social care worker should also be set out in your job description.

Contributes to improving the quality of service provision as the care worker constantly revises the policies and procedures and new standards that are being constantly set. Being up to date on the relevant new policies and procedures help the care workers to do their job and maintain of what is expected from them. Reflection and evaluation are a necessity mainly to determine which areas you are excelling in and which areas you may require more improvement and more of your time.
