The recurring intervals between school sessions are perfect for either educational remediation or enrichment, depending on the student. Thousands of students sit in classes each day that do not fit their needs. The classes are either extremely difficult, and their grades suffer, or they are a breeze, an A requiring minimum effort. Whichever the case, school isn’t doing anything for them. Many times, unfortunately, this situation lasts for the entire 180-day school year.
Year-Round Schooling Summer break is great. We all think so. But when you walk into Algebra 1 your first day back at school and the teacher says, “Pop quiz! Lets see what you know!” And that’s the moment when you realize that you don’t remember anything from the previous year. Year-round schooling is a better system than traditional because it’s better for students learning, it keeps kids involved and engaged, and, as much as this might surprise you, it doesn’t mean less vacation time.
Correlation between Q10 What is your cumulative Grade Point Average at Kaplan University? and Q11 How many hours do you spend on school work each week? is: 0.27817234 b) Is the correlation what you expected? Extending the school day may do more harm than good. Secondly, a major reason why the school day should not be extended two hours for students to get help on their homework is simply because of the fact that they do not all need it. Many kids like to work at their own pace and should have the option of getting help or not. Kids that need help go to after school tutorial, but the school should not enforce that all students must stay longer. Another reason to support this idea is because students do not always need two hours to do their homework.
Voting for me would allow them to have a better secretary for the rest of the year and possibly a better representative next year. By voting for me to go to CASL, my classmates would benefit because we would have a better & experienced leader in their class. I have shown major commitment and dedication to both leadership and my class. Every single day (even Mondays), I am early and ready to learn how to become a better leader. I have also been at almost every single workday the freshman class has had for all required events.
Year round school is also essential for teachers as well as students. Teachers, and students wont feel burnt out by April or May, making the production of both higher. In the following paragraphs I will tell anyone who reads this that the smartest decision is to be for year round school. (Year-Round schools Look Better All the Time, Pg. 1-2) A traditional school year would have a 180-day school year with short breaks for the holidays followed by a 12-week summer break.
At ACLC, I could take classes during the school year if my schedule and free periods allowed it. That allowed me to take more classes at the College than any Encinal or Alameda High student. With advantages like free periods and the ability to take college courses year-round that prepare you for college classes and life, I am pleased that I didn’t choose to go to a traditional high
A’lexûs Austin August 28, 2013 English 1113-M Essay 1 Uniforms Helping Schools Learning in schools has gotten better. Over the past couple years or so, more and more public schools have implemented policies requiring children to wear uniforms. This policy has helped students and schools as a whole. Mandated uniforms have eliminated distractions, equalized student population, and caused students to get dressed faster in the mornings. I understand that some people feel that uniforms are a waste of time, but they can never tell anyone why.
Studies show that charter school students make greater academic progress than students in traditional public schools. Sixty-four (64) percent of California's charter schools met student achievement targets on state tests in the 2008-09 school year compared to just 58% of non-charter schools. (CCSA site). Another idea that charter school offer is they have learning centers that provide additional resources for children that might be behind in a subject by having before and after school tutoring with the teacher or and aid that specializes in that subject, teachers are able to give test in small groups with children that are at the same level and work with them to help them
Even though the two different ways of obtaining an education are very similar, the teaching technique is slightly different. To me online education has been one of the relaxed ways to get through many of my college classes. I can absorb what I want to learn whenever or wherever I would like. I began taking online classes because it was tough for me to meet the expense of daycare for my children, transportation to and from my school was hectic; and taking off from work or cutting my days and hours back was just not in my budget, just to attend a classroom lesson. I had many personal commitments to deal with on a regular basis that did not allow me to sit in a classroom for several hours.
