Since Motorola Six Sigma inception, Six Sigma has evolved into the paradigm of combining Lean processes of eliminating waste with Six Sigma in what is known today as Lean Six Sigma. In this paper, I will discuss how quality management and quality measurement has evolved by exploring the background of Six Sigma, analyzing the concept of Six Sigma, how it has evolved. This paper will further explore how Six Sigma has evolved and help companies cut cost , how it is implemented with special emphasis on the DMAIC process. I will then conclude by providing an analysis on how the software industry use of Lean Six Sigma in development efforts.
