Running Head: STRATEGY Strategy MMPBL/502 July 22, 2011 Strategy Kudler Foods is an organization that started up in 1993 and has grown to three stores. Kathy Kudler has researched expanding the company to include a catering division. Kudler Foods has entered into an agreement with local organic growers to supply the stores with local organic produce. As a result of the expansion Kudler Foods projects an increase in customer purchases. To reach this goal Kudler Foods will need to assess how changes in technology will help create business opportunities by pursuing a generic strategy and tactics for implementation.
Supporting Processes Unlike operational processes, which are the process that manage marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, and management process, which include how the business is structured and the procedures of the business, supporting processes supports the core processes of the business. The support of the core processes of the Kudler’s Fine Foods include processes that support marketing, purchasing, and procedures of the business. It is important for Kudler Fine Foods to know what their competitor is doing for several reasons. First, if their competitor is offering a promotion to the public that is attracting more business, then Kudler Fine Foods will want to offer something along the same lines so more business will sway in their direction. Second, although the company may feel that they offer the best product, if the public feels that the competitor is offering a better product, they may want to consider changing their supplier of certain food products.
By using these an example this will allow Kudlers to properly train employees in customer service. Kudlers plans to spend $91,715 on new software to improve their current training plan. Kudlers has also started a budget for new customer relationship management system (CRM). Importance of Marketing Research Kudlers plans to increase their customer loyalty by offering high-margin services. Kudlers plans to do this by better understanding the customer needs, this can be obtained by tracking the purchases of the current cliental.
