He hadn’t played a visible role in the politics of Haiti so he could only assume he was being targeted because he had been seen with Aristide. Once, Aristide had shown up at Zanmi Lasante with a truckload of flour for his orphanage. His truck wouldn’t start, so they had loaded the flour into one of the clinic trucks which then broke down in a large puddle in the road. With the thought of the horror of the roads in Haiti on his mind, he said to Aristide, “In the newspapers, it says you’re going to be a candidate for president. I guess they don’t know you very well, because you would never run for president.” Aristide was noncommittal, but a week later, he declared his candidacy.
Along the way however, the way in which the characters lived changed as well. During Kracha’s time, money struggles dominated his life. During his efforts to obtain stability, he worked on the railroad, then moved to the steel mills, where years later, proceeded to open and own a butcher shop, then finally ended up back at the mills. His interests were not in updating and owning a home; rather, they lied in drinking, cheating on his dying wife and leaving three children on the backburner. Mike, however, was committed to his family and did not like the idea of keeping boarders to obtain more money for he didn’t want his wife, Mary, to overexert herself.

He grew up as an antisocial child due to bad acne and a stuttering problem which led him to have few friends . His father was very strict and forced him to work many hours at the bakery which he owned. He was a small, straggly child and although he was left-handed, his father forced him to be right handed, contributing even more to his stuttering problem because of the increased frustration. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Army Reserves and after basic training he worked mostly in his father’s bakery.

“This guy, was caught slacking on the job, you know like a brother does who works 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. One of Cyrus’ men found him and brought him to Cyrus… I heard that Cyrus used a sickle to slice the brother up, and if we are caught I don’t wanna another body on the pavement.” “Jeez man, this dude is sick in the head. He don’t make no sense brother.” “I know but let’s just carry on here, the day is nearly over.” “Okay, but I can’t believe that he shot that guy, this is cruel Tyson,” he said with tears slowly falling from his eyes. “Michael, keep it calm,” Tyson said sternly without raising his
The first incident documented by Bill is the theft of wood from neighboring homes under construction so that JD8 could build his own mail box; this event triggers the continuous observation of JD8 from there on. After several projects gone wrong and calls to the police, Bill has become fed up with his neighbor and is salivating over the opportunity for him to go to jail or move out of the neighborhood. Bill is clearly upset because he and his wife can’t sleep at night from the noise coming from JD8’s stereo system, or from the various animals that have been housed on JD8’s property. I don’t believe that JD8 is intentionally annoying Bill or any of his neighbors for that matter; I think that JD8 is just someone who comes from a different background than his fellow neighbors. I would consider JD8 the outlier of the neighborhood
When the people of Wells Fargo came to get the money of the day, they already have killed the employee that was in charge to do the transaction and movement of the money. Nobody noticed anything at that moment, because they put the employee inside one closet. It was a man with 25 years of experience in the hotel. The plan was to get all the money of the casino and get out in the Wells Fargo Truck, but they forgot that the employee that they have killed had a

When the fire company broke into the marshal’s office where the draft was being held the smashed the selection wheel and set fire to the building which is ironic because they put out fires. A deputy begged for the company to put out the fire but they refused and he was beaten and the draft was officially on hold. Workers from railroads, artisans, industrial workers, machine shops, laborers, and other employees didn’t show up for work that day as they were marching up 8th and 9th Ave and they gathered more people as they continued (Weil 147). The mob met in Central Park to discuss the situation and split up into two columns and went on their way (Bernstein 18). Jefferson was put on trial because he just happened to be in the convenience store at the wrong time. When the convenience store clerk was found dead, and Jefferson was there collecting the money from the register, he was automatically accused of the crime without a fair trial. During the trial, not only was the entire white jury against him, but his lawyer who calls him a hog, as well. Just because Jefferson is an African American at a time of segregation, he is sentenced to death, causing the inevitable. Racial injustice is a huge wrong of our judicial system in the past, and continues to be in some cases.
