I am currently participating in the Blinn TEAM program that is offered at Texas A&M University. I am aiming to transfer for the fall 2013 semester into the College of Education and Human Development with a major in Kinesiology (applied exercise physiology). Kinesiology is the perfect major to provide me with a strong academic background for medical or physical therapy school. My entire life has been centered on sports; which is what happens when one grows up with brothers. I am grateful for this, however, since sports have taught me to be confident, obedient, and disciplined. But with sports, come injuries; with injuries, come doctor visits. I spent the majority of my athletic career at the local physical therapists’ offices. Every doctor I worked with helped me recover from numerous injuries and assisted me in returning to play stronger than before. Because of this, I am a strong believer in recovery and the techniques utilized by physical therapists. I want to specialize in sports injuries and help passionate athletes return to the game quickly and healthy.…show more content…
He provided me with handouts for both medical school and physical therapy school which included the pre-requisites for potential acceptance. A degree in Kinesiology coordinates perfectly with medical school and physical therapy schools in relation to required courses. I am aiming high in hopes of attending medical school, but will increase my chances of reaching my career goal by applying to physical therapy schools as well. My sister graduated from Texas A&M and will be graduating from the UNT Health Science Center this year.
