A wild boy is born, doesn't like his dad's work, and learns some magic from his witchy aunt. The boy uses that magic to defend his town when raiders attack. 2 Because of his success with the raiders, the boy is taken in as an apprentice by the mage Ogion, who gives the boy his true name, Ged. Ogion tries to teach Ged about magic and the balance of powers. But Ged wants more power (partly to impress a girl…you know how it is), so he almost summons a shadow monster.

This book interested me because it is a fantasy and action book, and I enjoy those sort of books. The storyline of “The Lightning Thief” is about a boy named Percy Jackson who discovers something is wrong with him. He learns that he is a half-blood, which is half-human, half-god. He is taken to Camp Half-Blood in New York, a camp for kids just like him that is safe from monsters that like to attack half-bloods. There he figures out that he is a son of Poseidon, the god of the sea.
The book is about a 12 year old boy named Percy Jackson, who found out that his father is the Greek god Poseidon. Which makes him a half blood (mortal/god). He is accused of stealing Zeus's lightning bolt and now him and his friends are on a journey to clear his name. The basic theme of the story was, Never give up. The elements that aid the theme were imagery, Characters, and conflict. The author did marvelous job getting his point across.
Their duologue is all the more comical for the way they egg each other on and incorporate over-the-top gestures to enhance their message. I’d like to diverge for a moment and offer a cautionary tale about information narratives. A friend of mine took his son to the children’s session at the Brisbane planetarium. The show was about two children who embark on a dragon ride to explore the constellations in the night sky. After the show, when my friend asked his son to identify what he had learnt, the child’s response was ‘I learnt dragons live in caves’.
In the fantasy book Eragon by Christopher Paolini, a young boy named Eragon finds a blue polished stone in the forest. Eragon decides to sell the stone to feed his family for the winter, but he later finds out the stone has no value. Eragon’s discovery spirals into something giant when the stone brings Eragon a baby dragon, which opens up a quest older than the empire itself, it doesn’t only open up a quest to destroy the empire but a mental and spiritual journey to become a true hero. In the novel Eragon develops his physical strengths by training with his wise friend Brom, as Brom and Eragon travel they become closer. Brom starts to hand Eragon tasks to develop his magic skills and tells Eragon the way of the dragon, not only does Saphira help Eragon get around but she also helps Eragon
It was not until morning when all signs of the hawk were gone and Arthur was lost then he happened upon a cottage where he met an old magician named Merlin. Merlin, a wizard who lives backwards in time, followed the boy home after helping him find the hawk. The wizard became his teacher. The lessons Merlin taught were no ordinary lessons, but the lost teachings from the womb. When a baby enter this world they have under went a transformation from something very small and insignificant to a human baby, they of course don’t remember this transformation and that is why Merlin’s teachings were so eccentric.
Scott is absolutely right is his analysis of the young Naruto; throughout the whole anime series Naruto, Naruto is just a young orphaned child searching for acceptance among everyone he meets. Naruto was orphaned as a child since both his parents died saving both him, and the Hidden Leaf Village from the nine tail fox demon that resides within him. Naruto does not understand why all of his fellow villagers hate him; so as a way to gain their attention he strives in vandalizing the village. Naruto slowly matures and realizes the power that resides with in him; as the anime series continues Naruto begins to prove his importance to the village and begins to see his dream of being Hokage (leader of the Hidden Leaf Village) may one day come true. Even though Naruto Uzumaki posses an extraordinary amount of pure physical power and stamina, his amount of determination and will power dominate over all of his powers.
