4/27/13 Nirvana: A Quest for The Hall of Fame When it comes to an album that defined, shaped, and aspired a whole generation there’s few that come close to Nirvana’s 1991 Nevermind album. With the release of just one single, Nirvana not only murder the popular glam rock scene but gave birth to a new genre known as grunge/alternative. The Nevermind album has not only sold over 10 million copies alone in the United States, but it has also gone on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide. Spite these tremendous feats; Nirvana still remains unrecognized as a band, inspiration, and hieroglyph of a whole generation. As of 6/15/2013 Nirvana will technically be eligible to be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame.
He was the first non violent African American leader and helped others to achieve many great things. He has led many large protests, such as Birmingham, that were noticed all over the world. When King was thirty five years of age, he received a Nobel Peace Prize. Unfortunately, his reign came to an abrupt end on April 4, 1968, when he was assassinated. King was an extremely charismatic person which made him the perfect spokesperson and leader for the Movement.
Cobain actually detested hitting the Billboard charts, however, after his death in 1994, Nirvana become a worldwide rock legend who became commercialized to fit the mainstream (Erlewine). One year after the band was formed, they released their first single “Love Buzz” which did not get that much attention (Erlewine). A year later, their first album “Bleach” was released (Erlewine). Even though neither one of these hit the billboard 200 nor “attracted” any major label companies, Nirvana was satisfied with what they had accomplished; they had become very popular among college students and the British weekly press by selling 35,000 copies of their unique, indie style music (Erlewine). With a small following, Nirvana took the world by storm with their second album “Nevermind” at the end of 1989 with several hits (Erlewine).
These four men came together and each put in their own ideas to come up with this eventful Festival. Roberts was an inheritor to a large “pharmaceutical fortune” (Rosendberg, Para. 3) and were searching for an investment opportunity to make a big profit. Woodstock was held in the midst of the “Rolling Stones 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll”. (How Woodstock Happened, n.d.) News began to travel fast of this incredibly large festival.

They have had all of their original studio albums reach the top ten of the Billboard album chart in the US, with six reaching the number one spot. Shortly after their first tour, the group's eponymous first album was released on 12th January 1969.
Bob Dylan in 1960’s America The 1960s in America brought about great change not just to the country and its people but to music as well. The decade brought out some of the world’s most famous and greatest artists ever known to history. A prime example is Bob Dylan. Before Dylan made his appearance in the music scene, people hardly wrote protest songs or wrote songs the way that he did. His creative process included using the political turmoil and current events around him to express his love or hatred towards these events, in a poetic manner.
First I will speak on the two owners of these companies, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Both are very intelligent men and obviously created something that changed the way we live forever. Oddly enough, both of them were college dropouts. Yes, college dropouts. Even with that, they were immensely successful.

King got is Ph.D. degree at Boston University in 1955 and was the youngest man to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The discourse is broken into three divisions.
