Specifically, most psychologists are interested in the processes that occur at particular ages, and what the child's capabilities are at each stage of their childhood. Many psychologists have carried out research on child development in the following areas: Intelligence (Piaget), Moral Values (Kohlberg), and Emotion (JJ Campus et al.) Piaget throughout his career was a developmental psychologist and contributed a significant amount to the study of children. Piaget was very passionate about the study of children, and devoted his life to his work. A lot of resources will refer to intellect as the ability to learn or reason.
The moral code is also a type of ethics called deontological ethics which is a philosophy by Kant saying that we tend towards doing the right thing because it is our duty, so it is the duty of the boys at school to follow the moral code, for example it is their duty to tell the teacher when they've seen someone cheat on a test. David displays one of the seven Cardinal virtues; courage. He displays courage when the boys begin to dislike him because he is Jewish, he puts his Star of David necklace on either way. He is showing fortitude in a time of fear. About the Movie Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development Connections to my Life Connections to Class The movie School Ties follows the life of a Jewish high school senior David Greene (Brendan Fraser) who transfers to a prep school in Massachusetts after being awarded a football scholarship.
Instead of taking the traditional route of education for the students, learning about the required topics for the Oxbridge examinations, he takes his ‘General Studies’ lessons into a more culturally diverse lesson so the students are more well-rounded. These culturally diverse lessons provide much of the humour in the Alan Bennett’s play, and I think he has implemented these scenes to lighten the serious matters. The interruption of the headmaster and Irwin increases the comedy. The juxtaposition of Hector’s character immediately contrasts that of the headmasters greatly as soon as he walks in. Hector’s eccentricity and liberal character contrasted with Felix’s strict
Texts that are interesting and haunting have themes such as power and manipulation. However, stories with power, manipulation AND conformity, have strongly affected me and caused me to overthink about how simple it is to brainwash members of a society. This kind of activity (conformity, manipulation and power) is evidently shown in The Wave which was written by Morton Rhue. The Wave took place in Gordon High School. It's about Ben Ross, an intelligent history teacher that decides to perform an experiment on his class called “The Wave”, which at first started out so simple and small, until The Wave became unstoppable and spread around the school in such a short period of time, affecting many people.

The University used the Consequentialism system; Utilitarism, which seeks the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Sandusky appeared to have good standards and great ethical influence at the school and in his community with the youth. This made the University choose to turn a blind eye and did nothing to further their investigation prior to Sandusky arrest. The humanistic system is based on the extremes of human behavior. Sandusky and some of his fellow employees’ behavior displayed extreme bad behaviors disregarding the law, work policy, and social status.

The Milgram experiment The Milgram experiment came about by a Yale University psychologist by the name of Stanley Milgram. The experiment was to test how well the study participants were and the willingness of study participants to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts that conflicted with what they thought was right. He concluded people obey either out of fear or out of a desire to appear cooperative even when acting against their own better judgment and desires. Stanley Milgram raised a question of why so many people obey when they feel coerced, which brought on his shockingly incredible experiment. Stanley Milgram’s experiment was probably one of the most famous studies of obedience.
