The New Ice Age: The Possibility of the Emergence of an Ice Age as a Result of Global Warming For years now, scientists and politicians alike have argued to accuracy of the theory of global warming. While a growing majority of scientists see global warming as a looming threat to the well-being of mankind, there are still a few that doubt the very existence of a threat at all. Within the group of scientists who believe that global warming is indeed happening, there are some who believe that it is simply an inevitable result of natural climate fluctuation, consistent with the changes in climate that we’ve seen in history. Many however, believe that global warming is the direct impact of manmade greenhouse gases being emitted into our troposphere. The evidence for the existence of global warming is plentiful and reliable, and most scientists scoff at those who deny a theory that they believe should be considered a fact.
They focused on Germany because Europe is a head of the US in seeking renewable energy alternatives. Although they have had this focus, demand has started to grow in the United States because of the push to go green. Key Marketing Issues $$$---The main disadvantage is the price. The panels and installation have high starting costs. Climate Variability--- Although solar power can be used in most climates, the number of hours of sunlight will determine the number of panels you’ll need and what the wattage of power will be.
All of those things are just about to convince that Americans love freedom and autonomy. Besides that, America also wants to be independent in energy because it is one of the countries that using the most energy in the world, and if America depends a lot on energy import, it could against the biggest economy once the suppliers stop to export energy. The author pointed out that “Energy dependence” deemed to be the topic, the big prize, for the candidates and political operatives to appeal to the cross sections of voters. There were many plans for the United States with super cheap fuel, the farmers will be happy with billions of barrels of biofuels which produced by corns or other plants, and lots of new energy technologies will create a lot of good paying jobs. Then, U.S soldiers will never have to visit the Persian Gulf for oil or except for vacation.
In this situation, it has been a mainstream to use alternative sources of energy. It will be discussed how government, businesses and individuals could deal with the low efficiency of using alternative sources of energy in this essay. Firstly, government intervention is the most important and useful method in solving the problem, it can make policies in using alternative sources of energy, such as tax and financial expenditure. For instance, according to the text ‘Using waste, Swedish city cuts its fossil fuel use’, Kristianstad attempted to use biomass energy instead of fossil fuel, the start-up cost was up to $144 million. (Rosenthal, E, 2010) In such a situation, the government became a driving force to develop this project.
“An Inconvenient Truth” focuses on an important topic that we need to start paying attention to now- global warming. Many facts are stated and shown through graphs and research. The video and book also say how people are affecting the world and causing the earth to change. We can stop global warming by recycling, using less energy, and not polluting by using less fossil fuels (The Science). The movie, “An Inconvenient Truth” was a very eye-opening movie.
Taking Action Against Global Warming Global warming is a frequently talked about topic in today’s society. It has already started to take an effect on our universe and is a challenge that the United States is being faced with. “The U.S. produces nearly a quarter of the world's greenhouse gases each year and has stubbornly made it clear that it doesn't intend to do a whole lot about it”(Walsh). The United States needs to stand up and take responsibility for it actions and develop a plan to fix it. Both of the images of Time magazine cover titled “How to Wine the War on Global Warming”(Hochstein) and “polar bear clinging to a shrinking ice floe”(Wood 9) make it a point to express the importance of global warming and the issues that we will be faced with due to it.
Why Al Gore is the Best Democratic Leader of All Time Al Gore is the greatest democratic leader of all time. He has single handedly raised awareness of global warming in the world through powerful speeches, movies and even by organizing concerts like live earth. Al Gore has made governments in the world change their styles to caring more for our environment and staying green. He has even changed the way the American government runs their elections due to him being a catalyst in the controversy of the 2000 election. How has Al Gore contributed to the development of democratic decision- making you might ask?
Without light and dark they are no life and without emotions, they are no climate. The meaning of life and climate change is that if we continue to pollute the atmosphere with greenhouse gases then the world we live in we die. Also, the Pope acknowledges that climate change is important religiously as well economical "Many of those who possess more resources and economic or political power seem mostly to be concerned with masking the problems or concealing their symptoms, simply making efforts to reduce some of the negative impacts of climate change." Even though the political power is not trying to the reduce the greenhouse gas emitted the pope still recognise that there are a lot of ways people can help the
This is what we mean by Global Warming. It is simply the process of the Earths atmosphere heating up. Though it may seem like a good thing, many say it will also be a disaster for our world. Picture depicting what the Greenhouse Effect does. It's all our fault, isn’t it?
The legalization of marijuana is an extremely controversial topic in America, and it has been for years. It is well known that legalization could better our country’s economy, lessen crime, and can benefit those suffering from painful health conditions. So besides the few I have listed, what is the actual problem here? The US government is too frightened to step out of the box and give us, the people, a chance to legally use marijuana for recreational use based on decades of false negative publicity on the matter. Years of ridicule and the constant reminders of the fact that marijuana is the “gateway drug” contributes greatly to this problem.
