Torture has tremendous negative physical effects on the human body. People who have been tortured may have crushed, bruised, or even cut off limbs (Nice). Body parts affected during torture may be permanently bruised or may never grow back. People who have been tortured may have soft tissue swelling and may develop Necrosis (Nice). Torture may cause death of many cells or organs.
Torture can mean a lot of things- it can be physical, psychological, emotional...it can be anything that induces suffering, it can be a punishment. Prison can be a torture. The Spanish Inquisition was a torture. For soldiers overseas, being separated from family can be torture .There are many forms, many definitions. To the Spanish, at the time of the Inquisition, a non-Catholic deserved to be tortured although this was inhumane.

Physical abuse This typically involves hitting, biting, shaking, burning or scalding, throwing, force feeding, suffocating or anything else that causes physical harm to the individual. There may be various visible marks on the person’s body to indicate abuse such as bruising, burns, bed sores or fractures. Depression or unexplained weight loss may also be an indicator. Sexual abuse Typically involves forcing a person to engage in sexual activities or indulge in sexually inappropriate behaviour; penetrative acts, including buggery or rape; non penetrative acts such as watching sexual activities or viewing inappropriate sexual activity on the internet etc.
Another point made by these authors is that the use of torture has an interrogation technique might not be an “effective means of gathering reliable information (pg. 317).” This is because under intense torture and pain, research as shown that people tend to give whatever information is expected of them be it true or false to “make the torture stop”(pg. 317). Not only is torture not an effective means of extracting information it is also “one of the most extreme forms of human violence” (pg. 319) and has a long term physical and psychological effects on its victim.
It is accepted that a trigger is required for psoriasis to develop and this can be a throat infection, injury to the skin, certain drugs and, importantly, stress of some kind. Research has found that very often there is a significant emotional factor in the triggering of psoriasis, which is why hypnosis has proven so helpful in many cases. Many people with psoriasis tend to persist with a poor self-image, always thinking negative thoughts about themselves and feeling they “deserve it”.

I think that this law is not good because no one should be killed just because the person stolen something. In my own opinion why this law should not be used today is because if someone steals property then that person should be put in jail and not killed and not the person that recieves the stolen property. Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because the person that recieves the stolen property did not know that the property was stolen because the person that stole it did not tell them. Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because no one should be killed just because they stole some property. Justification for “The Case for Torture” Torture is unacceptable in every society and most will agree, but is it inexcusable? Depending on how you look at it, there may be situations in which it could possibly be a necessary evil. With the amount of lives lost on a daily basis due to the crimes of passion, of religion, and in today’s world, those of war. Could some of these lives have been saved if the information had been extracted in time? Maybe.
