Is College worth it? This is the big question all people of my age including myself are asking. Is College worth the money? Can i receive the same education for cheaper? lets assume that a normal college education is attending at least some kind of four year school. Now colleges range from state run universities to private universities. It is shown that state run vs. privately run is hard to choose for certain reasons. The state school is cheaper and allow more student entrance while the private schools have been known to be more expensive and accept a smaller amount of students, but they also hand out the most scholarships. In this case getting a degree in some form is a means of survival in our society. Lastly, looking into alternative means of obtaining a degree for cheaper can be looked into either through community colleges, or online courses. Going to college is seen as a big social stepping stone ,and people expect their children to go through means not even they know. The method of gaining some form of higher education really does seem to matter in our society, because it could determine the amount you get from your career choice. Today the reason the question comes up if college is worth it is because how high the cost has gotten. The average amount of tuition for a state run school is $21,447 while the average cost for a private university is $42,Christian Bustillo 224.(collegedata) This is an insurmountable amount of money that many cannot afford. However, people see obtaining a degree as a necessity in the United States. In a survey of parents 94% of parents expect their children to go to college without even saying how they would get them to that point.
