The Invisible Children organization is an active organization that focuses on LRA conflicts in Africa. The LRA, or Lord’s Resistance Army, is a rebel army of mostly children captured by lead oppressor Joseph Kony for the sole purpose of sustaining his overwhelming power. In order to gain donations and promote awareness about the LRA, the Invisible Children website appeals to the pathos and ethos of teenagers through the use of both frightening and touching videos, and captivating and relatable text like hashtags. The homepage consists of a hashtag “#ZEROLRA” in a bold and big font in the middle of the page. The layout is clean, simple, and easy to navigate. The theme of the website does not distract the viewer from the content of the site, but rather emphasizes it through the contrast of the colors. By implementing words and phrases such as "invite us to your school", "#ZEROLRA" and linking to popular social media like twitter and facebook, the site targets teenagers in schools. Through applying these technology friendly terms and links, the organization can increase its credibility as a "cooler" organization to these teens, and makes it easier for them to share the site with their friends. The Invisible Children team is composed of young adults, with whom the teens can relate to easily. The site unifies teens together by referring to the organization as a “team” and frequently uses the term "we." When donating, the teens are considered part of the team and feel included. Under the tab "LRA conflict" is a timeline of all events related to the Invisible Children's LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) conflict. The timeline contains brief points and shocking statistics such as "LRA abducts 37 people in Central African Republic" and "LRA abducts 86 civilians over two days," which intensifies the issue of the LRA.
