Lucille Ball Rachel Wheeler Harrison College MGT 2200 Ms. Ward 12/7/2014 Lucille Ball “Lucy you got some ‘splainin to do,” one of the famous lines from the beloved sitcom I Love Lucy. Each generation seems to be able to enjoy the hair brained tactics of Lucille Ball long after the show and its cast have passed on. Lucille Ball is still very famous for the show I Love Lucy, but what a lot do not know is how much more she was than a gifted comedian. Tragedy struck Lucy when she was very young with the loss of her father when she was only three. Eventually her mother re-married, but Lucy’s family was never the same.

Many people in the world suffer from syndromes such as autism or aspergers. Savannah grew up seeing Tim live with his autistic younger brother Alan, and saw how hard he tried to make sure Alan lived a regular life. She then went into training to become a special education teacher because, “(She) just decided (she) wanted to help kids like Alan” (40). Alan changed her life, because watching him was “…just so incredible you know? I mean, he
I have seen young kids 13 years old, some in their slightly older teens walking through Target and seeing the latest season of Jersey Shore for sale. And you know what they say when they see it? Mommy/Daddy I love this show, can I please get it. These children are paying attention to this show, they enjoy it, and they are at that stage in their life where they are easily influenced. And when they spend their days watching these “stars” and their horrible habits they are getting influenced and are thinking that acting that way is cool; it isn’t.

My son, Landen Jacob Reitmeyer, will be twenty-one months old next month on December 12. Ever since he was a baby, the only show I could get him to watch and would calm him down is Barney. It was the only show that had bright colors and loud music, used in ways that would really catch his attention, which it still does to this day. As Calvert (2008) observed these "attention getting production features are designed to attract children's interest in commercial content" (p.205). As soon as Landen hears the beginning theme song, he stops what he's doing and finds the television.
essGrowing up with my older autistic brother Jourdain has opened my eyes in many different ways. Our mother said that when Jourdain was diagnosed at the age of 3 years old she was told to institutionalize him because he was would not ever be able to function normally. I am so glad that mom did not listen to the professionals because Jourdain drives me daily to strive hard to be a productive member of society. Knowing him and seeing a smile on his face daily is my constant motivation. Even though my brother has a disability, he is hard working and excels in school and works hard at everything he does and like most little sisters I often fine myself following in his footsteps and trying my best in all my endeavors, I have seen him turn the impossible

That is why he felt that his children should be proficient readers. Ever since his kids were born he felt the need to pass his intelligence onto Scout and Jem. He believed that if he taught his kids to be as intelligent as he was, they could grow up to be successful people. Once, when Scout had started the first grade, her teacher, Ms. Caroline, told Scout that she was not allowed to read. However, Atticus encouraged reading and prompted his daughter to read every night with him.
Heaven Holloway English 100 Professor Quirk February 22, 2012 Educating Before School Children within the twenty- first century have made technology their main priority, in such regards as television, computers and more. This is now chosen as the best way to entertain a child over playing outside with friends like in previous decades. With an entertainment industry growing to supply the needs of children watching their programs, they must constantly come up with new concepts and creative cartoons for children. So how could production companies come up with a way to make television positive, but still be unique and draw attention? They have come up with the idea to make television educational for its young viewers.
