The following assignment will discuss the professional role of the student nurse and the registered general nurse (RGN) within the inter-professional team (IPT). It will define the individual role of the both the student and registered nurse. It will then examine how their roles differ from each other and how they collaborate alongside the inter-professional team. Establishment between the terminologies of other medical teams which may cause misunderstanding, for example the multidisciplinary team will follow. A determination of what professionals are involved in the IPT will be examined, expressing why they work this way and the standards each professional must maintain. Drawing attention to the how each professional member within the team have shared standards values and ethics, subsequently defining and addressing these. Developing on to a look at communication and how it is a fundamental role in the IPT. A glance at the ways IPT communicates with each other and the significant of record keeping and confidentiality. It will then explore issues in communication such as barriers that may be found in practice. Examples related to government reports will be investigated in order to illustrate the effect unhealthy communication is capable of. An analysis of how each professional is accountable for their individual actions and decisions they take will follow. The assignment will finish conveying the significance of the servicer user involvement within the inter-professional team. Throughout the assignment a connection to the student nurse’s experience in practice will be presented.
