If the police went on strike there would be no one to keep order, resulting in chaos. Each side was justified in different ways. The police had there reasons to go on strike, but i believe the government was more justified in their actions. The government had to step in when the police went on strike. If they did not step in there would be no one there to enforce the laws and there would have been out of control riots in the streets.
Gentrification takes place in many areas and can affect many people through the affected community. Essentially this form of movement normally occurs in low income neighborhoods where people don’t have the means to develop and maintain their place of residency. As a result of this lack of development many promising young men and women many who grew up in the community see the possibilities that the cities could produce which they embrace full heartedly. Unfortunately as a result of this change many people may lose their jobs, homes, and complete way of living because there either too poor to take part in the change or they refuse to change creating a realm of by standards.
More people are becoming homeless but more services are not being provided for them. Shelters are forced to turn people away because of overcrowding or lack of resources. Unfortunately the laws make it hard for those who are turned away. Many laws across the country are in place that prohibit sleeping in public places, or that allow the homeless to be removed from certain locations. These laws make the necessities of being homeless criminal.
People do not like to admit to their failures because they think of it as a sign of weakness. Admitting that you have made a mistake is not a sign of weakness, but an indicator that you have the ability to accept your flaws and take a step in the right direction in order to change the outcome. Many people will blame their failures and misfortune on the life they have been dealt. They will blame society, their race, their lifestyle, or other people. By doing so, the only thing they are accomplishing is pointing the finger.
Therefore, gang violence is ultimately eliminated. Gang violence inspires me to change the way society lives. All around the world, gang violence is a major problem that everybody should address; however, there is not really a lot of communication between schools and police departments to prevent gang violence in their communities. There is a lot of teen victims that have been influenced by these gang members which is saddening because they have practically ruined their lives. They eventually regret their awful decision.
In some ways the police force were not to blame for not capturing Jack the Ripper because of the harsh conditions that they had to work in. A newspaper article describes the streets of Whitechapel as "containing some headquarters of infamy" and "The sights and sounds are an apocalypse of evil" This gives a very negative image of the streets of Whitechapel and leads us to feel sympathetic towards the Police because they had to work in these conditions. The conditions would also affect a policeman's efficiency and make him less alert. The conditions can also explain why Jack could get away so easily. Because the Ripper wore a "dark coat", he may have been able to camouflage into the dark surroundings, described -"The main thoroughfares of Whitechapel are connected by a network of narrow, dark
Bob Herbert wrote an article called “Hounding the Innocent.” He talks about how more people are getting pulled over just because the police want to humiliate them. This act makes me indignant towards the law enforcement officers. Police are supposed to protect and serve not poke fun at people. Hispanics and African Americans are being humiliated but it’s mostly the minority groups. These groups are being stopped just because they seem like the “bad” people.
Why negative stereotypes have been created for the homeless? Many people in society are afraid to acknowledge the homeless. The homeless represent and bring out fear in many people’s everyday lives and it becomes very convenient to place the homeless in a stereotype to understand and make sense of their place in society. Stereotyping the homeless only brings the issues of how to treat and improve the homeless condition, understanding the often complex problem related to homelessness, further away from the Masses. A stigma is created clouding the issue.
This behavior is already instilled into James because of his parents constant fighting; they seem to be paying more attention to their own needs instead of the needs of James. Strains will and can lead to crime because they reduce one’s level of social control (Agnew, 2008, p. 3). Strains often involve negative treatment by people such as parents, teachers, spouses, and employers (Agnew, 2008, p. 3). This treatment reduces the persons emotional bond and in conventional society; for example, getting low grades, loss of a job, divorce, and theft (Agnew, 2008, p.
If they don't approve of those people, they might harass them, steal from them, and even murder them. Hate crimes are always intentional it seems like, hate crimes may physically wound and may effectively intimidate other members of the victim's family or even community, leaving them feeling terrorized, isolated, vulnerable, and unprotected by the law. That is why the necessity for hate crime laws needs to be updated and improved to protect the people that have been affected by these terrible crimes. We cannot ban
