However, I feel as though to do something great, you must venture somewhat into the unknown. The United States before that time, had tried to stay away from other countries and their efforts. But after America had expanded its borders and fulfilled their supposed "Manifest Destiny", it was time to look forward. Because of a population increase and other residual factors, there was the need to expand abroad in order to maintain industrial efficiency and prosperity. This was an unknown to America at the time, but I feel as though it is usually better to proactive instead of reactive.
In addition to this, the idea of mercantilism meant that American trade was protected by Britain, and this was advantageous as Britain was one of the strongest economic powers in the world at the time. These reasons support the statement that the relationship was ‘peaceful and harmonious’ because both parties were substantially benefitting from one another’s trading opportunities. On the other hand, there
Economic status: Agra is a vital center, with wonderful monuments, which include the Taj Mahal. Rich in necessities for human life and rich in people who possessed skills and traits to better society. Role in religion: The Muslim ruler of this city was interested in all religions and wanted to show that truth and wisdom could be sought in many ways. Discussions were held among Muslims, Hindus, Jains, Zoroastrians and Jesuits in the quest for spiritual
Historical context pertains to logos, which appeal to the reader’s common sense and beliefs. This tool is important because it brings the reader to feel confident that English has been, and will continue to be, spread across the world. The author states specific examples in history that have promoted language growth and links them to the same factors pertaining to English. Crystal makes his point that "A language has traditionally become an international language for one chief reason: the power of its people- especially their political and military power." (355).
The railways, particularly the Trans-Siberian railway, also gave Eastern Russia a link to Europe and Western Russia a link to the Pacific Ocean, which made it easier to export Russian goods. Therefore the Russian governments’ investment in railways was extremely successful in promoting economic growth. The Russian government was also successful in improving Russia’s heavy industry through the introduction of tariffs on imports. This clearly helped Russian heavy industry to expand as steel production increase eightfold from 1880 to 1905 and petroleum production increased over 2500% during the same time period. These tariffs, introduced by Vyshnedgradsky and continued by Witte, both increased revenue for the government and made
The first article by the senator had a few things that I felt were not correct. He came up with lots of reasons for going to Iraq and how we went for the wrong reasons but he does not mention the reason we went there in the first place, which was to remove the dictator Saddam Hussein from power. Throughout the editorial the senator also seems to somewhat villainies the U.S. I don’t believe a U.S. senator should make his country that he serves look bad even though others feel that it is ok to do so. Lastly, he wants to get across the message that the U.S. is at war with Muslims and not Iraq, which I believe is completely untrue.
The USA are making money all around the world as well as improving the economies of all of these countries as it provides millions upon millions of jobs and also improves infrastructure for factories. Not only do the USA have global economic influence, but they are also spreading their Western culture and lifestyle which attracts many foreign countries due to the supposedly laid
Akbar the Great, absolute monarch of India, has many positive effects on his empire by being one. He was the monarch of India in the late 1500s. Akbar the Great had modernized the army and had helped it build its capacity and strength. He also encouraged trade and had introduced land reforms. By encouraging trade and land reforms, he had also help spread cultures and religions.
Muslims developed a prosperous economy. They traded with many and had an extensive trade network. As being the people who trade from culture to culture spreading religious beliefs, culture, and technology merchants were well honored in Muslim society. Muslims also formed banks and sold solid goods on credit which was very new of the time. As well as economy, agriculture also boomed.
Being a much more important actor in the global arena would allow the United Arab nation to be more resistant to the external influence. This is essential for nationalistic movements, as according to Kamrava, „Nationalist sentiments may also be awakened by developments elsewhere. Nationalism can at times assume an antithetical nature, being formed and expressed in opposition to something. That something is often the expressed identity of another nation—another nationalism—or an external development that awakens, or reawakens, a sense of national pride and self-assertion“ (Kamrava, 2005, p 69). This is extremely important for the Arab world as attempts for this has already been made in the 20th century by the pioneers of the Arab Nationalism, such as Nahas Pasha, Egyptian Prime minister, who established Arab Union Club in order of to protect the “Interests and Rights” of the Arab Nations from the outside influence and develop the road of Arab
