If the majority of the population finds the script of a film to be unclear and hard to understand then they will give their friends that feedback and so people won’t go to see the film, which is especially bad for a mainstream film as they cost millions to produce and rely on commercial success. Also a simple storyline and straight-forward dialogue helps when translating the film for foreign markets thus increasing its commercial success. A good film script can make a new film successful as more people will go and watch it if they have heard good reviews from critics or their friends and family. However, there are many other factors apart from just having a good film script that can determine whether a mainstream film will gain the desired commercial success. The producers want the film to appeal to a mass market so that they can get mass audiences to go see their film.
The Great Depression was unexpected, yet inevitable. The stock market prices were inflated to nearly breaking point, but there were no actions to show for it. Eventually, people started to realize nothing was resulting from all the stock buying - and panicked. Everyone started selling as much as they could, as fast as they could so they could still make some profit. The major economic figures of the time tried to sustain the stock market by investing all they could, but to no avail - the prices took a huge tumble, and it would be a long time before they would manage to rise up again.
The worst scenario is that the publicity doesn’t help and people continue to go to the other bars and this would cause the revenue to keep dropping. It is doubtful that the marketing will do nothing. Increased publicity should increase traffic and volume. The first thing that has to be done is locating the best marketing managers we can afford. This should be done by the end of November.
• Competitors like Marvel are wooing customers with low cost per click-through • Condition-specific websites like cholesterol.com has a better chance of converting a visitor to a customer. • Setting a price competitive to Marvel’s would drop MedNet’s revenue by 80% • Since advertisements are the only source of revenue, MedNet’s has to rethink their revenue generation strategy to sustain their business. • It is considered as a product problem because they may have to change the value proposition Note that technology is fragmenting the market and disrupting the business model What are the decision options? • Charging for the content, treating site visitors as patients. • Extend coverage of alternative health information • Develop and manage corporate websites What does he/she need to know to make a decision?
The media had to go through $1.25 billion in damage and lost battle. In fact, the industry claims that 30-70% of the videos on YouTube are illegally downloaded. Since customers were now watching movies for free, this put a great impact on them. Sales of DVDs were declining while downloading and watching movies online were growing. So, to solve this problem, the movie and television studios decided to do something about this.
The shutdown happened because our leaders failed to come to a compromise on how to spend our tax dollars. So instead of taking any means necessary to allow for the prosperity and well-being of their country, Republicans just sat on a pile of undistributed money and played the waiting game. Thankfully, Congress made a deal and got the economy back on its bumpy track. If Congress had failed to do so, however, the effects would have been catastrophic. The value of the dollar would be pennies, millions of people out of work, and the US missing a debt interest payment for the first time.
The 18th amendment contributed to the rise of organized crime because it created a lot of underground business. From killings to people living in poverty, that’s what the prohibition caused. If people really thought that prohibiting alcohol to be sold leally were going to help the way that people lived during this time, they were wrong. A lot of people were against the law, they argued that if they banned alcohol legal businesses were going to go broke and that was not going to help the economy get better. But alcohol was not the only thing breaking families apart they said, after the war, soldiers would come home and find themselves in a whole, struggling to find jobs.
Steven Johnson argues that today’s shows make viewers follow many plots, sub-plots, and characters, allowing for more mental stimulation, and as a result makes them smarter. Granted, contemporary shows provide more opportunities for mental deduction and speculation of future events than programs in the past, but Americans are still wasting their time watching television. Whether or not the shows “make them smarter” is not a scientifically proven fact, and there have been twelve medical studies since 1985 linking excessive television watching to increasing rates of obesity (Johnson, Trubey). Although scientists have not proven that watching television makes you smarter, scientists confirm that television leads to obesity. One might try reading a book while on an exercise bike, training the body and mind.
As Professor of Political Science, Victor Navasky said, “There is no cartoon to the editor.” (Navasky) The frustration that comes from this dilemma is most likely what infuriated so many world leaders over the years. However, with a population becoming more and more literate political cartoons are started to become a dying art form; they do not have the same effect on the masses as they once did. The rising literacy rate, paired with falling newspaper sales, have caused this decline as the political satirist turn their talents to a whole new digitalized
A brief definition of reality television can be detailed in many ways, but basically its real life situations being displayed on television, which are also considered good money makers for the producers as well as the actors. Typically reality TV involves a group of people who are not trained actors being filmed in real life situations as well as irregular periods although some things are scripted to make the show more interesting. Recently celebrity versions of reality shows have made the definition harder, because they show the private lives of professional singers, actors, sportspeople, etc. as they deal with new situations. One reason Reality TV is considered bad for society is because it is mostly viewed by the younger generation which is easy to persuade by painting unrealistic and inappropriate portraits.
