This was the first party that Nick attended at Gatsby’s house but he could immediately tell that Gatsby was a perfect gentleman. At Daisy’s party, Gatsby is almost sure that Daisy’s love for Tom will be transferred over to Gatsby himself. Gatsby, thinking that it is only going to be him and Daisy at the party, is shocked to see his friend Nick, Daisy’s husband Tom, and Jordan Baker. The day turns out to be intolerably hot, making all the guests at the luncheon even more uncomfortable then expected. Tom receives a phone call from his mistress and leaves the room to have a word with her.
Gatsby tells Nick to find Daisy and Nick is hesitant. Nick does it anyway though and Daisy and Gatsby met. Well Daisy is married to an abusive man named Tom. Tom notices Daisy and Gatsby and them start to fight over who gets Daisy. Well near the end Gatsby and Daisy hits the woman Gatsby has affairs with on accident then Tom tells this woman’s husband, George, That Gatsby killed her even though Daisy was the one driving.
This makes us sorry for her because Steinbeck portrays that Curley doesn’t care for their marriage he just carries on as if it doesn’t exist. She gets very lonely at this point and she has been betrayed by her husband. She gets very emotional by all this so she shouts at the men, ‘Talkin’ to a bunch of bindle stiffs – a nigger an’ a dum-dum and a lousy ol’ sheep- an’ likin’ it because they ain’t nobody else.’ We can see that this makes her emotional and that she is lonely as she has nobody who likes

Jose decided to go to a bar to drown his feeling in tequila. He got kicked out of the bar because he was too drunk. The bar tender didn’t realize that Jose had driven to the bar so he just went back inside. Jose got in his car to drive to see where the road would take him since his family was now broken. After a long drive he was being chased by a police officer for speeding Jose didn’t want to stop so he kept on going.
Gatsby dedicated himself to winning Daisy, which leads him to gain millions of dollars, buy an ostentatious mansion, and hold weekly parties. The love for his own illusion of Daisy motivates him in many ways. Gatsby even felt it necessary to fabricate his entire identity. The narrator states, “So he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end.” Gatsby reinvents himself to conform to his own ideas of how he should live and how people should perceive him. He lies about countless things, so he can portray a man of wealth with sophistication and class.
When Tom finds out that the car that ran over Myrtle, he tells her husband, George Wilson. Gatsby’s blatantly rude behavior drove Tom to do anything to abort Gatsby from the picture. Although Daisy was driving the car when Myrtle was run over Tom tells Wilson it was Gatsby after seeing the revolver in Wilson’s coat pocket. Through the death of his mistress, Tom found away to eliminate Gatsby so he could at least keep his wife. The next day, Gatsby is killed while lounging in his pool by none other than Wilson.
Daisy does not stop, and continues to drive. When tom finds out that his lover had been killed, he goes straight to George (Myrtle’s husband) and tells him that he was not driving that car. He told him that it was Gatsby that killed his wife. George is furious when he hears this and starts to walk to Gatsby’s mansion. When he arrives at Gatsby’s mansion, he finds Gatsby in his swimming pool and he shoots him.
