The issue of immigration Immigration is a disputable issue in the United States because not all people allow immigrants staying here. The undocumented people are waiting for someone to pull them out of their nightmarish situation. The changes of the immigration will to be useful and essential. According to Lesil A. Maxwell, “more than 1.3 million undocumented young people now eligible to seek relief from deportation and gain work permits” (“Immigration Changes Give Youths Hope” ¶1 ). Many students graduate from U.S. high school with undocumented status-that is, they are not legal to stay in the United States. However, they study hard in school and stay out of trouble. In “George W. Bush praises immigrants”, President Bush points out that “Immigrants helped build the country we became, and immigrants can help build a dynamic tomorrow. Not only do immigrants help build our economy, they invigorate our soul” (¶1). Immigrants bring “new skills and new ideas” from their country, and “they fill a key gap in our labor market, they work hard for the chance for a better life” (¶1). In addition, immigrants take most of low-paying, physically-demanding or boring jobs which most Americans do not want such as digging sewers, washing dishes, cleaning hotel room. For example, some people from Mexico or other poor countries often choose any kind of work, especially one that pays a minimum wage rate. Some companies like to use these people because “not only they fill the less desired jobs that need to be completed, all wage rates will come down due to the millions of new resources in the workforce” (“Should a path to U.S. citizenship for illegal immigrants be implemented, granting amnesty & American citizenship to illegal after various requirements are fulfilled?” ¶3). However, some people argue that most of illegal worker do not pay enough taxes that could affect the economy of the whole country. In fact, the high tuition of children and low-paying job give more stresses to illegal immigration. Not only two of these, rent, food supplies, and transportation also can bring hardship to their life.
